The Global Process Owner (GPL) – Source to Pay (S2P) within the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) organization is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end Source to Pay processes delivered on behalf of a key client’s Global Business Services (GBS) function.
Client-Focused Process Ownership:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client’s GBS team regarding the S2P processes outsourced to the BPO.
- Own the end-to-end S2P processes, from sourcing to procurement, through invoice processing and payment, ensuring alignment with client standards and objectives.
- Ensure seamless coordination with the client’s GBS organization to meet process efficiency, compliance, and performance goals.
Strategic Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate closely with the client’s GBS team to drive the global S2P strategy, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Lead initiatives to streamline, automate, and standardize processes, leveraging the BPO’s technological capabilities and process excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Act as a trusted advisor to the client, providing recommendations on best practices, digital solutions, and innovations to enhance S2P performance.
Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure that the BPO’s execution of the S2P processes adheres to the client’s governance, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance against service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring high levels of process accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate risks in collaboration with the client’s GBS and internal BPO teams.
Technology Enablement:
- Drive the use of technology to optimize the client’s S2P processes, leveraging the BPO’s capabilities in ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle), procurement tools (e.g., Ariba, Coupa), and automation solutions (e.g., RPA).
- Lead the implementation of client-specific digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving S2P processes through the application of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and analytics.
Service Delivery & Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance of S2P service delivery teams within the BPO, ensuring that operations meet or exceed agreed service levels.
- Collaborate with client teams to drive issue resolution, process improvements, and operational excellence.
- Continuously evaluate service delivery effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and proactively addressing performance gaps.
Leadership & Client Relationship Management:
- Lead and mentor the BPO teams responsible for delivering S2P services, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and client-centricity.
- Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring their satisfaction with the BPO services and providing regular updates on process performance, improvements, and initiatives.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure BPO teams are well-versed in client-specific requirements, systems, and best practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or finance roles, with a strong focus on business process outsourcing, global operations, or shared services. Proven track record of managing Source to Pay (S2P) processes in a BPO environment. Experience working with global clients, particularly in collaboration with Global Business Services (GBS) organizations.
- Skills & Competencies: Expertise in end-to-end S2P processes, including sourcing, procurement, accounts payable, and payment, with a deep understanding of process outsourcing. Strong client relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders in global organizations. Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to leverage data and KPIs to drive performance improvements. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and engage across different levels of the organization. Strong project management and process improvement capabilities (Lean, Six Sigma certification preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement platforms (e.g., Ariba, Coupa). Experience with automation tools (RPA) and other digital solutions for procurement and financial processes. Familiarity with advanced technologies such as AI, blockchain, and analytics in the S2P space.
