As the Lead, Global Business Services (GBS)- Americas you will provide strategic leadership, support and guidance to the in-country workforce, ensuring effective operations and alignment with the goals of the Global Business Services.
- Lead by ensuring alignment with and compliance to internal controls including South32 Values, Standards, policies, agreements, systems, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain executive level relationships with key America’s stakeholders, which includes the United States, Colombia and Canada senior leadership as well as partners and vendors.
- Lead the team to execute activities in line with set targets as per Service Level Agreements.
- Oversee and monitor the management of key risks and controls associated with all GBS functional areas, as well as the Business Continuity Plan.
- Provide oversight, support, and strategic guidance to the in-country workforce.
- Cultivate a team environment with an open communication culture, motivating team members and devise and refine strategies to strengthen team engagement and morale
- Coach and develop team members to deliver and maintain operational discipline; ensure delivery of service is compliant, timely and customer focused.
- Develop and ensure functional integration of GBS to enable the end-to-end process of data integration, while identifying risks and the mitigation thereof.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement activities by utilization of existing processes, practices and systems.
- Collaborate and provide problem-solving guidance on escalated processes relevant to scope of work.
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration. • Minimum 7- 10 years professional and managerial experience.
- Working knowledge of process improvement processes and methodology.
- Experience in leading high volume transactional shared services activities, preferably SAP based, is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of recognized Risk Management methodology.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
