The IT Director, HR Technology will be a key partner in leading the HR IT Transformation at Albemarle and position HR technology as a strategic tool to simplify, standardize and improve employee and customer experience.
- Develop multi-year HR Technology strategies and adjacent roadmaps for the company, to include HR data, analytics and reporting transformation as well as multi-year systems upgrades and implementations in the areas of learning management, performance management, succession planning, compensation, talent acquisition, talent management, payroll, time and attendance
- Proactively partner and support with HR leadership to build an overall technology transformation strategy that supports the HR long-range plan
- Build and execute an application/system architecture roadmap that provides for best-in-class solutions for our customers focused on delivering an effective and efficient customer experience
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all functional HR stakeholders while working effectively with the business to understand and adequately translate business requirements and manage project scope, implementation timelines and customer expectation
- Leverage Workday to its fullest potential by optimizing existing functionalities and integrating new features to enhance HR processes, improve data accuracy, and streamline workflows. Continuously evaluate and implement Workday updates and best practices to ensure the system meets evolving business needs and delivers a superior employee experience.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the existing applications footprint with focus placed on system availability, security and currency
- Monitor departmental metrics for issues and trends to determine root cause, required process changes, and resource allocations that will improve overall service delivery
- Support large-scale acquisition and divestiture efforts as appropriate to ensure HR services are transitioned, people data migrated and systems architectures are adapted to aggressive business deadlines
- Manage all aspects of employee performance for a global team which includes goal setting, coaching, mentoring and professional development
- Manage the budget for operational support and projects including forecasting, cost tracking, variance management
- Develop key talent and capability in business strategy across the enterprise and serve as a talent steward for the business in this space
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on HR technology. Proven experience with Workday and other HRIS systems is essential.
- Demonstrated success leading HR IT through an HR Shared Services Transformation
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline is required.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with business relationship management, change management and global transformation initiatives
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills and ability to influence
- Experience interfacing with and managing internal Centers of Excellence (COE) and shared services
- Impeccable analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
- Experience in operational excellence and utilizing tools to actively problem solve and manage for daily improvement
- Project management skills: financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals
