Successfully support VP Finance (CFO) by leading the core Finance teams, including: Management Reporting and General Ledger / QSR Accounting teams, Tax and Treasury team, Shared Services teams and the Corporate Reporting team. Successfully meeting expectations, challenging and developing the team, analyzing and explaining results, maintaining a well-controlled and accurate accounting environment ensuring financial statements / reporting and disclosures are in accordance with USGAAP and IFRS.

  • Responsible for overall aspects of the finance team functions; including general ledgers, sub-ledgers, month / quarter / year-end close, fixed assets, lease accounting, tax and treasury, shared services, corporate reporting and adherence to internal controls processes and applications.
  • Ensure finance teams are strong and reliable business partners to both the local functional and Atlanta head office functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all related SOX controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all REIT controls.
  • Coordinate month / quarter / year-end close with countries, sites, and internal departments in adherence to agreed timetables.
  • Lead external audit and income tax compliance ensuring compliance with USGAAP, IFRS and Income Tax requirements. Including managing the income tax compliance framework for ANZ ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations, including acting as Public Officer.
  • Monthly management and reporting for all significant judgments and estimates.
  • Preparation of executive level presentations.
  • Ownership of accounting policy, procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensures that financial and accounting records are prepared, maintained, and reported in accordance with USGAAP and applicable governmental regulations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach and retain staff. Ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Monitor, evaluate and influence progress toward departmental goals.
  • Ensure research and draft technical memoranda on proposed transactions or on new accounting pronouncements correctly comply with USGAAP and IFRS.
  • Co-lead (with FP&A) the preparation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Strategically partner with other departments to meet company objectives, ensure compliance with company SOX controls.
  • Review and approve journal entries, analysis and reconciliations as required, ensuring compliance with SOX and relevant internal controls.
  • Provide on-boarding training to various positions throughout the organization as it relates to Accounting matters.
  • Ensure IT systems upgrades/enhancements as it relates to accounting systems, including creating and performing test scripts are delivered within agreed timing and UAT processes.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.

What Experience And Education You Need

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is required,
  • CPA or CA qualified,
  • 7+ years Big 4 or top tier national accounting experience required,
  • 10+ years of related senior accounting, tax and treasury management experience,
  • Thorough understanding of USGAAP, IFRS and SOX requirements,
  • Strong computer skills required. Experience with Oracle, BW, BPC (or comparable ERP Systems), Onesource (or equivalent) and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
