Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-President (Operations) will spearhead the University’s operational strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission and strategic goals. This role oversees key areas, including finance, infrastructure, people and culture, IT, legal services, sustainability, and more. By driving organisational transformation and fostering a high-performance culture, you will enable UOW to excel in teaching, research, and community engagement.
As a member of the University’s senior executive, the Vice-President (Operations) will:
- Lead financial and infrastructure strategies to support sustainable growth.
- Oversee the development of an equity, diversity, and inclusion-focused human capital strategy.
- Drive digitisation, cyber strategy, and IT infrastructure to enhance operational performance.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Oversee the University’s risk management and legislative compliance frameworks.
- Strengthen UOW’s brand and reputation through strategic marketing and communications leadership.
- Champion sustainability initiatives and governance excellence across UOW and its entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated financial and operational strategies.
- Lead transformative shared service models to enhance organisational efficiency.
- Foster high-performing, accountable teams through workforce planning and leadership development.
- Ensure robust compliance, risk management, and legal advisory functions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with government, industry, and academic stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in senior executive roles, preferably in higher education or similarly regulated sectors.
- A proven track record in financial management, change leadership, and digitisation.
- Expertise in legal compliance, risk management, and operational excellence.
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and sustainability.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant qualifications in business, finance, or a related discipline.
