The manager is responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Reviewing and evaluating the accounts payable and receivable registers to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments.
- Monitoring account aging reports, identifying delinquent accounts, and referring accounts to collection agencies.
- Verifying customer credit limits that set by treasury and confirming payment terms.
- Designing and implementing standard policies and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant financial records.
- Working to improve the procedures of the accounts payable and receivable functions to create efficiency.
The Chosen Professional Should Have The Following Skills
- Ability to manage the day-to-day operations of the AR/AP department, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Review and validate the accounts payable and receivable registers, monitors aging reports, and identifies delinquent accounts for collection actions.
- Assist in the design standard policies and procedures for efficient financial operations.
- Should hold a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required, along with extensive knowledge of accounting processes and departmental functions.
- Play a crucial role in the financial health of an organization by ensuring timely collections and payments, conducting credit checks, negotiating with clients in non-payment cases, and preparing forecast reports.
- Support and train AR/AP Clerks, ensuring that all team members follow accounting principles and stay updated on industry changes.
- Role requires experience in a supervisory capacity, demonstrating the ability to manage a team, meet departmental goals, and adhere to approved budgets.
- The position demands excellent analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, good communication skills and a strong problem-solving attitude.
- A CPA certification, while not required, can be an added advantage for the role.
