The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the financial integrity of foreign acquisitions and leading the migration of their accounting to the organization’s financial shared service center in Utrecht. In this role, you ensure compliance with both local and international standards, support the integration process and establish strong financial controls within the acquired entities.
- Foreign Entity General Ledger Management: Ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting for foreign acquisitions, while complying with local standards and aligning with corporate policies.
- Compliance and Standards for Acquisitions: Monitor compliance with international and local accounting principles, standards and regulations in the acquired entities.
- Payroll and HR Administration Management: Ensure payroll processing and maintain employee-related financial administration within the acquired entities
- Budgeting and Financial Planning for Acquisitions: Contribute to the budgeting process for foreign acquisitions, supporting long-term planning aligned with strategic goals.
- Accounting Migration: Leading the migration of accounting processes for acquired foreign entities to the financial shared service center in Utrecht, coordinating with both local teams and the central finance team for a seamless integration.
- Internal Control and Audit: determining internal controls, supporting preparation for the audit and implementing any corrections.
- Cross-functional Collaboration with Managing Directors: Work closely with managing directors, finance, operations and acquisition teams to align financial integration with overall business objectives and support a smooth transition.
- Travel: Occasional international travel as needed to support integration and financial migration locally.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accountancy or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, a proven background in international acquisitions and financial migrations is an advantage.
- Knowledge of international accounting standards.
- Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills to guide teams through migration and integration processes.
- Willingness to travel internationally if required.
