Valmet is the leading global developer and supplier of technologies, automation and services for pulp, paper and energy industries. Valmet’s vision is to become the global champion in serving its customers., looking for a Senior Manager, Global Financial Operations, India to be a key business partner in achieving our operational and financial objectives. This position will be based in Chennai, India, and report directly to the Director of Global Financial Operations.
As the Senior Manager, Global Financial Operations, India, you will be responsible for:
- Managing GFO Operations: Collaborating with business lines and functions to ensure Valmet’s policies and principles are applied, meeting both local and global requirements.
- Liaise with business teams to ensure the GFO scope aligns with business cases and meets Valmet’s targets.
- Ensure compliance with statutory accounting and tax regulations.
- Coordinate with external financial service providers and manage their work effectively.
- Build strong relationships with auditors and local authorities.
- Leading Finance Transformation: Lead teams through Finance Transformation and Leap Forward initiatives, focusing on business evolution in the coming years.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals, ensuring a strong level of expertise both in the short and long term.
- Oversee change management and ensure successful implementation of global processes.
- Process Improvement: Support the continuous development and implementation of finance processes to drive efficiency and improvement.
- Identify gaps and define requirements in processes, tools, and working methods.
- Analyze and track global KPIs to ensure business performance is optimized.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to Valmet’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures and ensure alignment with company values, business principles, and the Code of Conduct.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A master’s degree in finance or a recognized accounting qualification.
- 7+ years of senior finance experience with a demonstrated leadership track record in a Shared Service Center environment.
- Expertise in end-to-end accounting processes and a solid understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian Direct Taxation is essential.
- Strong understanding of financial processes in a global organization and how to apply these processes effectively.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, identify key priorities, and foster a positive team environment.
- Experience in driving change and collaborating effectively across teams.
- A successful track record of building and maintaining long-term relationships for organizational benefit.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and convey complex messages.
- LN knowledge and experience with working in a Matrix Organization are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to meet job requirements.
