- Ensures the existence of good transaction processing system and procedure for financial transactions such as payments and receipts.
- Ensures timely and accurate production of accounting reports for the group.
- Ensures presence of appropriate internal control policies to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Ensures timely and accurate statutory accounts reporting for the group.
- Responsible for corporate governance compliance for the group.
- Ensures compliance with tax requirements and become a liaison with tax authorities to negotiate the best possible tax rate for the group.
- Taking a hands-on driving role in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive financial information for analysis, management and control purposes. Such information should also be used by the finance department to instigate operational actions to meet organizational objectives.
- Playing a key role in deciding matters related to capital investments and treasury matters such as financing, leasing, working capital management and currency management.
- Assist to work on investment appraisals to help derive sound decision on potential investment opportunities.
- Whilst complying with statutory tax requirements, be responsible to seek and establish the best possible approach to achieve the most efficient effective tax rate for the group.
- To put in place internal auditing function to ensure controls operate as designed for the purpose of meeting organizational objectives.
- Play a key role to inform and influence from financial perspective the development and implementation of organization strategy.
- Review and advise the management on the potential business risk that may arise from the change in statutory requirements, cross border investment, forex risk, tax etc.
- With the assistance of external auditor ensures a risk management framework and ensures business units take appropriate risk mitigation actions.
- To ensure appropriate insurance of all organization properties and business activities.
- Assist and work with relevant departments, consultants, banks and authorities on corporate exercises in relation to investments, merger and acquisitions.
- Responsible for the managing and resourcing of activities related to development, implementation and management of all finance systems of the group.
- Lead and oversee the investor relations function, ensuring effective communication of the company’s financial performance, strategy, and outlook to investors, analysts, and stakeholders.
- To take the leadership role in managing people within the finance function of the organization.
- Any other relevant duties or tasks as assigned by your superior.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with ACCA/CA/CPA/MIA qualification.
- Masters qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience, including 8 years of senior management role in finance.
- Exposure in integrating IT application into financial reporting etc. to support business needs
- Strong knowledge on Generally Accept Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
