The Accounting Manager Senior is reponsibile for managing a group of professionals that apply accounting principles to prepare and process complex accounting transactions, analyze information, and create financial reports. Other responsibilities would include leading projects as needed and ensuring compliance of DynCorp International Pvt. Ltd. (DIBS) in relation to Accounting, Payroll, Facilities functions and related regulations.
- Oversees accounting processes for assigned area.
- Oversees monthly and quarterly accounting reporting.
- Liases with DIBS consultants and oversees management of DIBS regulatory compliances.
- Determines training plans and project implementation requirements and strategies.
- Manages the requirements around backfilling of finance positions on Programs and deployment of resources as appropriate.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
- Analyzes and standardizes procedures and work schedules to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Represents Accounting Operations for assigned area for phase-in on new contracts.
- Responsible for overall team management including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Position may be assigned to a specific targeted business area and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) required. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) a plus.
- Ability to perform data extraction and manipulation, analyze financial data, and generate reports.
- Ability to analyze variances to budgets/forecasts/accruals, explain to management, and create corrective action plan.
- Demonstrate proficiency in finance and accounting relational databases and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work with numbers and complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments and work well under pressure.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting.
- Three (3) years in a managerial position required.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Normal office environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
