As General Accounting Director, you will review, challenge and report the financial results for Arcadis Australia. You’ll be an enthusiastic leader utilising your hands on accounting operation, compliance and business partnering experience. Utilise this experience to drive finance process efficiencies and deliver targets analysis that gives meaningful insights into business performance.
- Managing all key accounting operations, treasury management, reporting, budgets and forecasts, month-end and year-end process, regulatory reporting, analysis, and interpretation of company performance
- Ensuring timely reporting to corporate head office for all standard reporting deadlines
- To act as a trusted business partner with Senior Business Leaders and Executives to drive transparency and awareness of key performance metrics and aiding in the company’s financial decisions.
- Responsible for internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits, financial statements, and ensuring IFRS compliance and statutory filings.
- To promote standardisation, centralisation, automation and support digital based solutions within the global teams and assisting in the Transformation initiatives.
- Quality control over financial transactions and reporting while establishing and implementing accounting policies, business processes and internal controls.
- Adopting and encouraging the use of our Shared Services Centre to optimise efficiency, operational delivery, and business success.
- Provide expert knowledge and ensure the local business is compliant with current legislation at all times,
- Reviewing statutory returns including GST or equivalent and ensuring timely lodgement of ATO and other legislative requirements to avoid failure to lodge penalties ·
- Monitoring the actual cash position and Free Cash Flow statement of the company, reviewing weekly cash flow forecasts, and liaising with Global teams with regards to significant variances.
- Degree in Accounting/ Finance with recognised professional accounting qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Australian Financial background, preferably in a professional services environment
- Current knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations
- Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing complex business change solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence the business and maintain key relationships at the executive level
- Excellent Organisational and time management skills
