The Area Vice President, Small Business Team Leader, for the GBS Small Business Practice will be responsible for direct management responsibility of a team of account managers and the overall book of business under management. Key areas of focus include client retention, expanding client relationships, supporting integration of new clients sold, and supporting overall client happiness of Small Business clients across the defined book of business (defined generally as < 50 employees, < 100).
Operational, Technical and Business Responsibilities
- Support the overall GBS Small Business strategies of organic and inorganic revenue growth; client satisfaction, process improvement; talent development, and innovation. Minimum metrics for success include:
- Retain existing client relationships and revenue at a rate of 95% or better
- Create existing client revenue growth at a rate of 5% or better
- Support integration of new client relationships at a rate of 10% or better
- Utilize available Gallagher Service Center processes at a rate of 95% or better
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in technology and within processes utilized by Small Business account managers, taking action to enhance financial results for short and long range planning as implantation of the Small Business model continues across the Division.
- Support continued integration of Small Business clients sourced internally and externally by scaling the team and delivering consistent service to existing and newly integrated clients.
- Build and foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement among direct reports.
- Ensure the Small Business client services are operating in accordance with GBS Professional Standards.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to direct reports in support of career pathing for account management professionals.
- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders across the operation on team objectives, performance, and opportunities for continued improvement.
- Ensure that Small Business team resources are leveraged successfully to obtain results with maximum effectiveness.
- Work closely with Branch, Regional, and Divisional teams on new business opportunities, merger and acquisition pipeline and integration, Small Business staffing and performance consistent with the Small Business model.
Required: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience required.
Preferred:

- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of government rules and regulations pertaining to HIPAA and Healthcare Reform
- Commitment to client retention and growth through exceptional customer service
- Willingness to travel to operations serviced within the Small Business operation.
Desired:
- Resident in a local branch aligned to the Small Business Model
- Experience with setup, management and oversight of the execution of medium to large scale projects a plus
