As a manager of FSSC R2R team, Associate will lead and mentor the team who are involved in financial book closing and reporting. Associate will be responsible for book closing and reporting activities of all AF Group companies (80+ entities) and across 10 different geographies supporting diversified BUs in Real Estate, Construction, Engineering, Healthcare, Schools, and Group Services etc. with major emphasis on:

Ensuring compliance with Group policies and procedures
Quality of Financial books
Periodical books closing and reporting
R2R Transformation Initiatives – Streamlining the R2R activities, standardize and automate processes to improve efficiency levels
IFRS compliance and preparation of multiple FS
Manage internal and external audits
Contribute towards a robust R2R tower focusing on achieving maximum customer satisfaction within agreed SLA’s.
Support overseas integration of Group Entities.
Regular Trial Balance review and Balance Sheet substantiation
Partner with Business Finance and provide value added insights and actionable reports

Service Delivery

  • Lead the team of R2R accountants to manage the process of books closing and reporting of all Al Futtaim companies catering different divisions like Real Estate, Construction, Engineering, Healthcare, Schools, Group Services etc.
  • Lead internal/external audits and ensure timely response, documentation, and information with respect to processes under ownership. Ensure audit closure within SLAs and given timelines.
  • Prepare and circulate agreed management reports on periodic basis with key insights, potential audits issues and exceptions.
  • Review Segregate and streamline the R2R activities performed by associates into Transactional / Reporting, Pre-close, On-close & Post Close.
  • Carry out detailed review of key accounts in Trial Balance and ensure substantiation of balances appearing against it.
  • Continuously monitors, critically evaluates, and advises on the relevant accounting standards, regulations, conceptual and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Coordinate within R2R and other FSSC tower heads to ensure accurate books keeping, reduce accounting errors/reclassification and internal/external audit observations.
  • Establish process to comply with accounting standards, IFRS and group accounting policies.
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders by developing impactful working relationship.
  • Delivery of agreed service levels (SLAs) to divisions

Governance & Reviews

  • Introduce strong governance around preparation, review, and submission of financial statements.
  • Plan and prepare for audit meeting with financial controller, Divisional CFOs and auditors.
  • Lead business review and audit meetings and monitor action items for closure.
  • Review Inter-company reconciliations on monthly basis to resolve differences and receive balance confirmation.
  • Continuously engage with FSSC and divisional team for closure of all audit observations within stipulated time.

Process Improvements

  • Reduce cycle time require to complete the audit/sign-off of financials.
  • Introduce day-wise activity calendar to complete the audit within stipulated time.
  • Charts of accounts harmonization across AF group entities
  • Preparation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs)
  • Support Process improvement team in driving various quality initiatives and sign off SOW, RACI matrix with business

People Management

  • Assist Tower Head in career development activities for team members, including performance management and feedback.
  • Ensure adequate guidance and training of team members to meet service delivery targets.
  • Responsible for attrition management and timely backfills

Required Skills To Be Successful

  • Good accounting (IFRS) knowledge
  • Preferably worked with audit firms or MNCs
  • Analytical mindset
  • Process oriented
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in tight deadlines

What Equips You For The Role

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified Accountant or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years of similar experience
  • With good knowledge of ERP systems (Preferably SAP and BPC)
