We are looking for a dynamic and experienced SVP of Strategy and Operations to join our leadership team to develop and execute a strategic vision for operations and strategy team and optimize the path for supporting mission and growth to achieve our goals.
The SVP of Strategy and Operations will play an important role in ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and achieves its strategic objectives. This person should have a passion for leading, coaching, scaling, and inspiring teams. The role will be a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the President and will partner with other senior leaders to develop and implement the company’s overall strategy. The successful candidate must have a diverse set of skills and competencies that allow them to support both the strategic planning process and operational needs of the organization.
- Lead and facilitate the strategic planning process with the Senior Leadership Team
- Articulate the company’s strategic plans in partnership with the President that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Track, manage and communicate performance, based on established annual metrics.
- Coach and lead teams/groups, including Strategic Planning, PMO, Sales/Revenue Operations, Data Strategy, and Business Systems.
- Manage multiple budgets to ensure targeted financial outcomes.
- Monitor and analyze operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Charge team leads to implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. Bring outside perspective and knowledge (when needed) to increase operational effectiveness.
- Monitor market and industry trends to identify opportunities and threats that could inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop M&A strategy, identify potential targets and lead due diligence processes in partnership with our financial sponsor.
- Develop a strategic path for elevating and formalizing a connected data strategy approach
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices in partnership with our legal team.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, customers, suppliers, partners, corporate-level shared services
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the organization to meet the evolving needs of customers, employees and other stakeholders.

- Planning: Able to run an annual process that develops strategy in partnership with the Senior Leadership team and other key stakeholders.

- Leadership: Able to lead a team, set clear expectations, coach and develop others, and collaborate with other executives, managers, and stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
- Financial acumen: Able to responsibly manage a budget, forecast, and maintain awareness and mindfulness of bookings as it connects back to staffing and system decision-making, etc.
- Market Analysis: analyze financial and market data and identify business opportunities and risks.
- Operational expertise: Able to link processes, systems, and procedures to achieve goals, and drive continual improvement.
- Technical acumen and expertise: Able to lead and maximize the use of customer relationship management (CRM) systems, data warehousing, and other business intelligence tools. (Salesforce DC, Eloqua, Tableau, Gainsight). Work in partnership with Cambium information technology (IT) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) functions
- Communication and presentation skills: Able to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences, including executives, board members, employees, and external stakeholders.
- Adaptable: Able to track emerging trends and technologies, think creatively, and adapt to changes in the business environment.
- Relationship Management: Able to build strong relationships, inspire trust, listen to others and alternative points being made, ask questions to clarify.
- Passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on students’ lives.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations management, or a related field.
- MBA or Masters degree in business and strategy is preferred.
- 15-20+ years of experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of success in a growth-oriented business.
- Industry experience in Education Technology and SaaS based Technology desired.
- Demonstrated experience in operations management, strategic planning, M&A, and business systems.
- Demonstrated experience transforming and scaling cross-functional teams
- Experience with project management methodologies and/or process improvement – Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
