Reporting to the Finance Director UK & Ireland, the Finance Director Shared Services – UK & Ireland is entrusted with overseeing the entirety of transactional finance and statutory accounting within the regions. This includes the management and coordination of critical functions such as general ledger operations, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, as well as invoicing procedures. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with UK and Ireland regulations, fulfilling US reporting requirements, maintaining robust internal controls, and collaborating closely with the FP&A Director.
- Team Leadership (30): Lead and develop a high-performing Finance Shared Services team, aligning their efforts with ABM strategic growth objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain robust financial systems and internal controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and streamlining processes to enhance ABM financial operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage statutory obligations in the UK and Ireland, including accounts, tax filings, and audit requirements, ensuring full compliance.
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee the preparation, audit, and filing of entity statutory accounts, working closely with auditing teams to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Professionally qualified accountant such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or FCA, showcasing a strong foundation in financial expertise and a track record of effective leadership and team management, having recently managed or currently managing a financial accounting team.
- Multi-Jurisdictional Proficiency, demonstrating experience in managing complex accounting processes and teams across multiple jurisdictions.
- Financial Acumen: Exhibit strong expertise in financial accounting, reporting, management accounting, and taxation, ensuring comprehensive financial oversight.
- Collaborative Leadership: Experience in a matrixed corporate environment, emphasising collaborative partnerships, particularly with the FP&A Director, UK&I FD, wider leadership, and US parent.
- Operational Agility: Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrating excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
- Compliance and Precision: Navigate complex regulatory landscapes with precision, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to financial guidelines.
