Altum Consulting are currently working with a global listed organisation going through a significant period of change and transformation. Now a few years on from a merger and integration of 20+ businesses they are working on their global operating model and harmonising their enterprise applications. We are currently working on a newly created role GPO – Master Data Management.

The Master Data Management (MDM) Global Process Owner is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing the MDM strategy and processes across the organization. The MDM Global Process Owner ensures that the master data is accurate, consistent, complete, and compliant with the business rules and standards. The MDM Global Process Owner also leads the MDM team and collaborates with the business stakeholders, IT, and external partners to deliver high-quality MDM solutions and services.

  • Define and maintain the MDM vision, roadmap, and governance framework.
  • Drives global process standardization, transactional efficiency, organizational capability, process performance and a prioritized roadmap of all global Master Data Management processes.
  • Define and implement the global Master Data Management process roadmap to deliver targeted business benefits and ease of process use for the end user.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of the MDM solutions and integrations.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to deliver new services where appropriate.
  • Provides stewardship to assure that quality, operating, financial, and customer satisfaction objectives are achieved.
  • Designs process and key performance indicators for the global Master Data Management processes.
  • Define and implement KPIs and performance measures associated with the Master Data Management process. Lead benchmarking activities and continuous assessment of global process performance measures, driving measurable improvements in the process over time.
  • Provide insights into shaping policies and instructions related to Master Data Management process and institute process improvements to drive improved adherence to policies.
  • Monitor and measure the MDM performance and quality indicators and report on the MDM value and outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve the MDM issues and risks and escalate them as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to the MDM team and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate and educate the business users and stakeholders on the MDM principles, processes, and benefits.
  • Stay updated on the MDM trends, best practices, and technologies and recommend improvements and innovations.
  • Establish and sustain process change control for Master Data Management processes.
  • Provide process expertise for shared service migrations, business integrations including M&A activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in MDM, data governance, data quality, or data management.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering successful MDM projects and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of the MDM concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience with various MDM domains, such as customer, product, supplier, or reference data.
  • Experience with various MDM architectures, such as registry, hub, or hybrid.
  • Experience with various MDM platforms, such as SAP MDG, Informatica, IBM, or Oracle.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional global environment.
  • Stakeholder management experience with ability to influence and persuade key stakeholder and to constructively deal with conflicts.
  • Demonstrable experience of executing process transformation initiatives or projects.
  • Formal continuous improvement (e.g. Lean / Six Sigma) desirable
