The role of the Head of Solution Design is integral within our Partnerships and Growth team, serving as a linchpin in the expansion strategy for our Defence business. In this capacity, you will forge close partnerships with our business development team and clients to enhance fresh business prospects. This collaborative effort will culminate in the conception, leadership, and execution of solutions for designated major projects.

Your collaboration won’t stop there; you will also collaborate with other internal partners to facilitate the achievement of our organisation-wide growth goals. Successful candidates for this position must demonstrate a well-established comprehension of the evolving needs of our Defence customers and the dynamic responses and developments within the market. They will bear significant responsibility for shaping solutions and will be encouraged to act as advisers to senior management within the organisation.

The ideal candidate will display a genuine commitment to meeting customer needs, ensuring that each contract yields benefits not only for Defence Business Services but also for the Ministry of Defence and Shared Services Connected Ltd.

This role will require travel to client site as well as onsite in our Centres of Excellence in Gosport and Glasgow as and when required.

• Comprehensive ownership of the end-to-end solution design process involves:
• Thoroughly evaluating and prioritising all viable opportunities during the prequalification phase. This includes conducting technical research to assess feasibility, cost, time requirements, and compatibility, as well as an examination of potential products and services that can be integrated.
• Ensuring that the designed user journeys align with and complement related services and their associated systems.
• Translating requirements into detailed design solutions, encompassing elements like wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys.
• Proficiently communicating detailed user journeys, complete with prototype demonstrations, to both internal and external partners. This involves offering a comprehensive perspective on opportunities and identifying the most effective approach for transformation and optimisation, which includes the incorporation of process and technology components that support the user journey.
• Ensuring that the solutions developed adhere to Digital Design standards and comply with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) guidelines.

• Proven track record of ensuring user needs are effectively integrated into functional and technical business requirements.
• The ability to seamlessly incorporate user experience insights and opportunities into the design of digital services and products.
• Expertise in designing and documenting prototype designs and mapping user journeys that encompass ERP and HCM products such as eBusiness Suite, Workday, and SAP.
• Proven ability to think strategically about delivering outcomes and value for clients, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Proficient in working with Agile processes and principles.
• A high-level grasp of system integration mechanisms and products.
• Possesses a creative and innovative approach, capable of devising compelling solutions for complex problems.
• Especially good communication skills, along with proficient customer management and consulting abilities. Capable of formulating and presenting concepts, technical solutions, and business-focused strategies effectively.

It would be great if you had:

• Familiarity with Oracle eBusiness Suite and Oracle SaaS (Fusion) products.
