The new Employee Services function within Dyson Business Services (DBS) organisation will provide process and service excellence to support Dyson’s growth ambitions with a goal of innovating and enhancing employee services over time to meet the changing needs of the business.

About The Role

In this influential position, you will drive and champion the HR Technology agenda for Dyson employees worldwide, as well as acting as a partner to the People Leadership team. Working in partnership with key stakeholders, this role is expected to bring about specific and measurable change in how employees experience working at Dyson, with a goal of automating administration activities and making their lives easier. The key objective is to continuously improve technology solutions across the entire employee life cycle, transforming and digitising the user experience. The role will be responsible for developing a road map across all technologies, including Workday and Cornerstone but extending to other systems in future.

The immediate focus is to support the transition of HRIS services to a shared services model in Dyson Business Services, support the tech plan for 2022 and continue to build the HRIS roadmap for 2023 and beyond. The new Dyson Business Services (DBS) organisation will provide process and service excellence to support Dyson’s growth ambitions with a goal of innovating and enhancing services over time to meet the changing needs of the business.

The role will also be expected to be part of the simplification of the current HR technology landscape, working with IT to support the decommissioning of current systems where appropriate.

This is a global role and there should be an expectation of regularly liaising with stakeholders across several time zones as well as some international travel.

Technology Strategy

  • Own HR technology strategy across Dyson covering the entire employee life cycle from hire to termination
  • Embed the use and adoption of solutions
  • Develop a progressive road map looking to automate all aspects of the employee life cycle, with a goal of increasing adoption and making it easier to interact with HR services
  • Own business cases and planning to implement new solutions into Dyson e.g. Workday Learning

Delivery and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a practice and culture of continuous improvement across the DBS, HR team and business, demonstrating progress on adoption and usability
  • Provide second line support to resolve any complex technology issues (including managing suppliers) in line with agreed service levels and escalation management as required
  • Ensure Dyson deploys and maximises new functionality through regular product releases
  • Ensure HRIS team assist with the execution of system changes (updates, integrations, new configuration) and that they participate in all aspects of system testing
  • Create new governance, processes and audits to better manage technology, ensuring data compliance and system security is a key focus

Supplier Management

  • Actively manage all technology suppliers and be able to influence their product road maps to accommodate Dyson’s requirements
  • Regularly review performance of suppliers, ensuring they are fulfilling their contractual requirements

Leadership

  • Lead the business as usual HRIS team
  • Ensure the HRIS team have the right mix of skills to provide an effective support service to employees, line managers and HR teams around the globe
  • Own the HRIS budget
  • Degree educated, preferably in a related discipline, with minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • HR and technology experience with a proven track record of devising and implementing common sense and pragmatic solutions
  • Experience of working with Workday or other HR system
  • Knowledge across HR Technology spectrum including recruitment, core HCM, Learning, Time Tracking, Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Strong knowledge of operational HR processes and data regulations
  • Experience of working with global HR data preferred
  • Logical thinker with excellent stakeholder management skills: able to influence virtually as well as directly across multiple time zones
  • Strong delivery skills, able to evaluate and prioritise, balancing operational improvements with ability to provide innovative solutions
  • Clear and effective communication skills supported by the ability to liaise and influence effectively at all levels
  • Strong project management and operational experience
  • Experience of managing a matrix of resources, including IT resources and third parties and internal business areas
  • Experience of working in a complex and fast-moving global organisation
