This new role will join our new Global Business Services Centre in Sofia, Bulgaria. You will be a key member in the new team and will have a passion for maximising efficiency and effectiveness throughout your area of expertise.
The Financial Controller role is responsible for the accounting and finance control processes for Kin and Carta UK, our main trading entity in the UK (£50mil plus), providing expert advice on accounting and governance matters.
This role offers direct exposure to the UK Finance Director, business partnering opportunities and commercial exposure. The ideal candidate would have previous audit or shared service experience.
Financial Accounting
- Ensure all financial data is complete, accurate and all transactions are consistent with IFRS & Kin and Carta Group Accounting manual
- Produce month end accounts with other General Accounting colleagues and present to FP&A and Finance Director from the business
- Provide detailed analysis of martial variances to forecast
- Ensure excellent and consistent financial data quality
- Complete month / year end tasks in line with Kin and Carta’s requirements and close timetable
- Provide detailed, complete and informative monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversight and review of the transactions processed and reconciliations produced by the K+C GBS colleagues
- Maintain a strong and effective internal controls environment
- Monitor and maximise working capital
- Work with external auditors to provide on time audit answers to queries
Shared Services continuous improvement
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across all aspects of the financial processes
- Partner with Accounts Receivable teams to maintain a strong credit control environment and ensure an accurate and complete billing schedule is maintained and supported
- Partner with other GBS departments to promote best practices and continue with business process improvements and reengineering to drive efficiency and effectiveness
General
- Act as the “owner” of the service delivery for the UK entity
- Participate in transferring of work from UK entities to Sofia
- The ability to travel internationally
- Other activities as directed by senior leadership
- Microsoft Excel Intermediate
- 4+ years proven shared service centre / BPO accounting or audit experience
- University diploma (Bachelors / Masters) in Accounting or Finance ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified or qualification in-progress will be considered as an advantage
- Understanding of IFRS
- ERP System experience
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Desire to learn about cutting edge automation tools to enhance transactional finance processes
