The Senior Director of Operations and Administrative Services (OAS) team (senior director) manages day-to-day operations of the department while providing visible and effective leadership to the Directors within the Shared Services unit.

The senior director prepares, recommends, and implements plans and strategies related to the development of shared services within the separate and distinct divisions of University Communications and University Advancement portfolios and, in conjunction with the OAS Steering Committee, determines appropriate levels of support provided by OAS. The OAS Steering Committee is comprised of the leaders of the supported divisions. In conjunction with the Associate Vice President of Administrative Services, the senior director develops appropriate metrics to analyze the effectiveness of operations and coaches the Shared Services leadership team, providing a growth-oriented staff environment.

The Senior Director of OAS is the primary liaison between supported units and OAS. The senior director oversees the implementation of appropriate business processes and internal controls, develops collaborative relationships with colleagues in the supported units and in university support units, and promotes a positive and trustworthy reputation for OAS. The senior director must effectively communicate with, and manage the expectations of, all stakeholders through appropriately designed service partnership agreements. The senior director serves on, or meets regularly with, the leadership team of each supported unit and engages unit leaders to develop best practices, policies, process and other useful tools that promote operational effectiveness and efficiency.
