Establishes the vision and strategy, provides leadership, governance, and policy guidance to PG&E for all activities related to the delivery and performance of an 8 million square feet portfolio, over 750 buildings, budget of $130+ million in operating expenses and $50+ million in capital spend annually. The Director, Real Estate and Facilities Operations provides guidance to senior management in matters of strategic interest and value to the corporation pertaining to real estate strategies and facilities policies, practices and standards and aligning department plans with company strategies. The Director, Real Estate and Facilities Operations partners with officers throughout the Company to ensure current and future business requirements are accounted for in formulating the enabling real estate strategy and delivery of services that are consistent with corporate direction.
- Establishes the direction and leadership of one or more physical and/or functional areas: General Office Operations, Field Operations, Emergency Operations, Critical Facility Operations, Vendor or Expense management, FM Program Compliance or similar.
- Develops and executes short and long-term plans to meet department goals and objectives including cost savings, customer service, employee engagement, supplier diversity, green procurement and safety.
- Identifies customer service areas for improvement, communicate to stakeholders, determine a plan of action, and identify expected results.
- Manages benchmarking internally and externally for analysis, continuous improvement, and r projects.
- Develops effective metrics to track, report on, and improve overall department performance.
- Ensures the planning, coordination, and logistics for facility and building-related materials, resources, and supplies are timely, accurate, cost effective, and within budgetary parameters.
- Develops real estate strategies that optimize cost, timing and functional area need.
- Implements effective risk management framework across areas of responsibility.
- Oversees implementation of the coordination and communication of planned or forced equipment outages, system status, unusual events, including the coordination of system restoration following major disturbances.
- Coaches and counsels managers, supervisors on how to deliver performance feedback; works with managers, supervisors to develop, deliver performance action plans.
- Provides insight and guidance to space planning functions at a facility or across the service territory.

Background Qualifications
Minimum
- 10 years of experience in a real estate or a facilities engineering function in a large, complex corporate environment is required.
- 7 years experience in a leadership capacity is required.
- Training in maintenance strategy, reliability-based maintenance, and purchasing and budgeting is also required.

- Direct leadership experience managing represented employees and labor contracts
- Direct experience implementing and utilizing LEAN management tools
- Direct experience managing to industry leading safety frameworks and systems
