  • In conjunction with the IT Group Head, develops and produces the IT Strategic Plan providing technical expertise, up-to-date applications and appropriate and relevant advise linked to realistic targets and the Bank’s requirements.
  • Monitors expenditures and ensures adherence to agreed annual budget. Acts on budget reports and alerts IT Group Head on significant variances, unexpected or emergency requirements.
  • Agrees IT service level agreements with various users and ensures that these are monitored and delivered.
  • In the absence of IT Group Head, represents IT at senior management level meetings; gives presentations, provides explanations and data / reports, as required.
  • Oversees the overall operations of the division to ensure that all user information requirements are met and that all major functions of the department are performed accordingly
  • Negotiates with external suppliers to agree appropriate and cost-effective services in support to Bank’s activities. Ensures maximum value-for-money from these contractual services, through both price and service level standards / agreements. Ensures that concerned IT staff is well-informed about service level agreements and that such agreements are fully utilized / enforced.
  • Ensures that Bank’ policies, procedures, regulations, and MLPP compliance laws and regulations, are known, understood and complied with by the departments under him and any contractors, service providers and all other who work with the bank.
  • Evaluates any computer hardware and software purchase or upgrade recommendation made by the Technical Support Department Head. Enjoins the Department Head to develop business case justifications, capacity planning and cost benefit analysis in support of budget submitted to Top Management, linking these with the bank’s business objectives.
  • Ensures consistency across information / operating technology by working closely with the Head of Applications Development and Management Division.
  • Maintains up-to-date on general technology and emerging trends & issues
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of all incumbents and their committed project deliverables to ensure that performance expectations are met and provide basis for giving rewards
  • Provides coaching and support to the Department Heads in areas such as conflict resolution, problem solving, design work processes and procedures and transfer of technical, administrative and managerial tasks as required
  • Promotes effective communications and good working relations within the Group, with user departments, and with other support services;
  • Participates and ensures the training & development of the division to improve IT services and mitigate the risk of loosing skills and expertise in the event of employee turnover.
  • Discusses audit findings with IT auditors. Enjoins the Department Heads to adequately and reasonably address and rectify all audit exceptions and work for above acceptable audit rating.
  • Provides functional guidance to the operating technology groups;
  • Undertakes any other duty which may reasonably be allocated by the ITG Head or other senior officer.
  • 18. Keeps abreast of updates on the Bank and BSP policies as stipulated in the Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Program (MLPP) through circulars, required seminars/programs and adheres to said policies.”
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Specific Functional Work:Knowledge on information planning, systems operations, network communications, IT security risk and control processes, IT tools and methodology, and banking operations
  • Industry / Work Experience Required:At least nine years experience in the areas of information planning, systems operations, network communication, IT security risk and control processes work with relevant exposure to banking operations.
  • Special Skills / Behaviors Required:Excellent oral and written communication skills. People and project management experience.
