The Chief Digital Technology Officer (CDTO) will lead a cross-functional team including IT, Data Analytics, and PMO. The CDO will be responsible for providing vision and leadership to this cross-functional team to include continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, tools, business processes, and analytics. This individual will be a part of the senior leadership team and will be expected to contribute at a strategic level to ensure overall success at Confluent Health.

  • Creating connectivity/enterprise-wide business solutions: optimize and/or replace existing infrastructure; integrate and modify multiple business systems and discrete pieces to form a single corporate view and enterprise-wide system; ensure sustainability and scalability of solutions to support rapid business growth through acquisitions.
  • Improving interface and interoperability: capable of delivering support to various business partners and operating functions (finance, human resources, billing, revenue cycle management, clinical operations, center operations, etc.)
  • Securing the network: ensure integrity of information security to protect sensitive health and financial information.
  • Utilize technology solutions effectively to enable accelerated growth.

Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop strategic road maps for the company’s IT systems and applications that provide clear direction on how to transition from current state to the desired end-state.
  • Provide enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever-changing business needs.
  • Ensure adaptability and interoperability of systems critical to future health information exchange and continuum of care initiatives. Utilize a “Hands On” style when needed and assist the team with designing solutions and resolving technical problems.
  • Lead the senior IT management team in governance of the organization’s architecture, telecommunications, networks, business application, information security, data analytics and end-user computing environments.
  • Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide business continuity plan.

Solution Development

  • Implement new technology and integrate existing technology in support of fast-growing, multi-location, patient-centric business. Translate business requirements into solutions that deliver value to the organization.
  • Integrate and modify existing platforms and solutions to create a connected and seamless “enterprise-wide” solution; combine efforts to both build and buy solutions.
  • Develop and manage strategic IT application portfolios.
  • Lead the planning of all development and support activities for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations

Operations and Infrastructure

  • Promote shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business strategies.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users, program management of development activities and monitoring of systems, programs, and equipment performance.
  • Ensure information security and compliance with all laws and regulations (HIPPA, PCI, etc.); ensure protection of all sensitive health and financial information.
  • Ensure the delivery of IT department operational objectives, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Define, communicate, and enforce corporate procedures, policies, and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating new network systems, equipment, software, and other technologies.
  • Manage external vendor relationships that provide key services to the company, including but not limited to: Data Center Services, Network and Telecom Services, Help Desk Services.
  • Develop and deliver on the annual operating and capital budgets for the IT function.
  • The successful candidate will have a passion for business and for technology enabled innovation. They will use their creativity and knowledge of IT to develop a customer-oriented strategic plan to design a next generation platform that not only addresses current needs, but also anticipates future possibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree (computer science, information systems or related field preferred). Master’s degree a plus.
  • Currently a senior leader with 15 years related work experience (5+ years of management experience).
  • Experience in working in both a small and large company.
  • Deep understanding of designing process and structure, but can also succeed within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Has experience supporting multi-location customer-centric brick and mortar sales and/or service sites.
  • Healthcare experience in a provider setting required.
  • Successful track record in high-growth business, creating scalable solutions; an execution oriented practical and tactical thinker, with a high degree of personal accountability and results driven mentality.
  • Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting IT solutions, both infrastructure solutions and software applications. Emphasis on security, solution architecture, business requirements gathering/analysis, and solution design.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
