As Head of Controlling, you are a major key to the success of the controlling department. You are responsible for the supervision, coordination and organization of the controlling activities of all business units within this organization, including foreign activities. This means that you manage all financial and business controlling, reporting, budgeting and internal control processes, working closely with the Finance Manager, CFO, CEO/COO and the entire management team. Apart from that, you are a born people manager/coach and you ensure that the controlling team gets every opportunity to perform well, you are responsible for their further development and growth of the activities.
- You are responsible for the layout, analysis and optimization of:
- Management reporting to the Board of Directors and CFO, CEO/COO (management team).
- Group financial reporting . This includes commercial figures, FTE headcount reporting, comments and analysis of the data. You prepare the reporting and ensure that it meets the compliance guidelines for group reporting.
- You take a leading role in the coordination of the annual budget and forecasts for all entities separately and at a consolidated level.
- You are closely involved in the preparation and evaluation of business plans , investment and divestment projects . You carry out the necessary ad hoc analyzes and share your insights/feedback with your management colleagues and any business partners involved.
- You coach, motivate and lead the very strong controlling team of 6 Business Controllers. You support them by sharing your experiences with them and allow them to flourish in their responsibilities so that they can act as true business partners for all management levels and as advisors based on their in-depth business knowledge.
- In addition to stable continuity in the team and growing performances, you strive to ensure that relevant data for all entities is sufficiently analyzed and challenged , whereby you ensure permanent interaction between the Business Controllers and the Managing Directors/Business Managers of the various BUs.
- The organization’s business is growing rapidly, with a continued movement towards a more centralized structure with Competence Centers and a central IT environment, which is why you are also a key person in harmonization , standardization and further optimization in reporting and in the approach to the business partners.
- In order to know the business inside and out and to maintain a good feeling with it, you are the Business Controller of the shared service center , which mainly consists of personnel, IT and internal bank-related activities and a smaller business entity.
- You have a Master’s degree in Economics/Finance + about 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in business controlling/or external audit + business controlling in an international environment.
- You are a people person and a born leader who does NOT profile yourself above the team, but above all positions yourself present/visible and accessible next to the team members. As a Manager, you know how to coach and motivate your team members and help them perform even better in their positions.
- You have an analytical mind and make quick links between the figures and the business, ideally you already have experience in a distribution context.
- You are a down to earth, but creative problem solver and work hands-on, pragmatic and goal-oriented. You know how to maintain a helicopter view as well as work at a detailed level;
- You can connect strongly and communicate impactfully with different stakeholders within different layers of the organization;
- You are an Excel wizard, you know every nook and cranny of this program. Experience with Power BI or Power Query? Big plus!
- You are fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of French is a plus.
