The Head of HR Services is responsible for leading the HR Services and Payroll Team, you will be responsible for the success of the HR Operating Model, ensuring service excellence, quality and data accuracy is at the heart of all the team’s activities.
This role is based at our Support Office in Diss (with option for some Hybrid Working).
- You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction of the HR Administration and Payroll Teams
- The role will contribute to the development and delivery of overall HR Strategy specifically contributing towards better data and more standardised approaches to processes
- You will provide strategic and operational leadership to develop and deploy HR solutions across the full employee Lifecyle that enables and drives overall business performance
- The main objective for this role is to deliver consistently against agreed SLA’s and KPIs, with a focus on continuous improvement across HR processes, controls and procedures ensuring robust compliance and governance mechanisms are in place
- Delivery of a multi-jurisdictional payroll service, both in-house and through third parties; with strong supplier management processes and relationship management
- We are looking for someone who can lead the team and drive high performance levels, ensuring that the team develop individually as well as being motivated, understanding the importance of their roles and the function more generally
- You will need to need to build key strategic relationships with the member of the HRLT and HR Business Partnering team as well as other senior colleagues both across HR and our International Operations teams more broadly to deliver excellent standards of service
- You will also be encouraging and leading the Senior HR Services Manager and Group Payroll manager, and their respective teams, to work collaboratively across the business to deliver a joined-up employee experience
- Engage with Senior Stakeholders across the designated business areas on a regular basis to review high-level data and metrics
- Capitalising on HR analytics, data and technology to support business operations to ensure HR reporting and analytics are accessible and available to support and drive decisions through reporting of HR Services & Payroll Team Metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Works in partnership with Senior Stakeholders (Senior Leadership Group) and Senior HR Business Partners to drive key strategies business improvements and objectives continuously reviewing analytics and data and service delivery across the group
- Lead on Strategic HR Projects and support the implementation of new systems and processes across the business to support change and drive our people data and metrics through a HR standard of Service and delivery to support business operations
- Regularly reviews and evaluates and drives continuous improvement of the HR Services function ensuring this remain effective, adds value and consistently delivers against strategic plans and objectives in line with KPIs
- Leads the HR System project, for implementation of a new system towards the end of 2024; ensuring all HR admin and payroll processes are fit for purpose, efficient and focused on maximising the employee experience
- Demonstrable prior experience of leading both payroll and HR Shared Services Teams
- Strong Business Acumen and business interest and an understanding of data and metrics
- Significant experience of leading transformational change and developing and delivering against HR strategies that enable business performance
- Significant experience in a strategic HR and Payroll position with driving excellence in customer service
- Be a strong relationship builder with the credibility to take the lead and challenge or influence peoples thinking at senior level
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate a high-performing team
- Ability to understand company strategy, operational requirements and external employment agenda to shape and deliver solutions that are easy and simple to understand
- Strong communicator who is able to influence others and effectively challenge at all levels
- Experience leading Change & HR Programmes and initiatives
- Metric and data driven with strong analytical and problems solving experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working to tight deadlines and challenges
- Have a passion for developing and coaching people to unlock potential and performance across both the Human Resources Services Team
- Have a collaboration and partnership approach to create alignment between the business and all areas of HR
- Resilient and adaptable and ready to embrace and support regular and ongoing change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint and strong knowledge of HR Management Systems (HRMIS) data bases
- Experience of working in cross- functional leadership teams and delivering against a broad HR Agenda
- Ideally experience of previously implementing a new HR system
