The Chief Strategy Officer is the senior planning and business development executive for the North Division (Puget Sound and Alaska) based out of Seattle. Advises the executive team and other leaders and acts on matters related to strategy, service line and business development, market position, physician relations and other matters which are directly related to the strategic plan. Integrates all strategic planning and related processes into the overall strategic business direction of the Division and its entities.
- Use external data, projections, and modeling to improve insights about the future of health care (1, 3, 5,&10 years out); identifying trends and developments that could result in strategic opportunities for the organization.
- Understand SWOT for each Division and Line of Business, as they relate to Providence’s vision&strategic plan.
- Create an integrated, system-wide strategy for the Division in collaboration with others, across the care continuum (Acute Care, Providence Clinical Network, Home and Community Care, Health Plan, etc.).
- Create&deliver an ISFP that aligns corporate vision, strategy,&priorities (Destination Health 2025) with Divisional strategies, plans,&actions
- Coordination of strategic priorities across all lines of business to deliver the best outcomes across the ecosystem.
- Partner with System Shared Services teams to align enabling infrastructure to healthcare strategies&plans
- Partner with the System CSO of Care Delivery to co-join system strategy and healthcare strategy to advance transformation across the enterprise.
- Partner with Chief Contracting Officer, COO of Population Health and others to form a value-based care strategy that is deployed effectively across the Division.
- Collaborate with the CFOs to develop a capital plan in line with the organization’s strategy.
- Master’s degree in business-related discipline required, preferably in healthcare administration or business.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience with increasing responsibilities in strategic planning and business development, preferably in a large multi-disciplinary hospital or system.
- Ability to develop complex business plans using data to drive strategy is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to establish open, respectful, and candid relationships and exhibit a high degree of professional ethics.
- Solid knowledge of healthcare industry standards, laws, and business drivers.
- Proven business planning and management skills; capable of timely accomplishment of objectives with a focus on P&L.
