Location: This role can be based from any of our following sites: Preston, Frimley, Barrow-in-Furness or Scotstoun Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Negotiable + executive benefits including car allowance and bonus
Reporting into the Indirect Procurement Director, this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our shared services function for the UK and internationally. Indirect Procurement is currently going through transformation and you will play a key part in developing the category strategy while upscaling the team. We are looking for someone to bring unique ideas and approaches, along with supporting new ways of negotiating and buying for this category. This is a high-profile role which will give you exposure to working with very senior stakeholders, with opportunities to progress your career within a global business.
- You will be accountable directly to the Indirect Procurement Director
- Lead the indirect procurement people category including, Contingent Labour, Recruitment, Consultancy, Professional services, Learning & Development and Offload
- Providing leadership and support to the category managers within your team to unlock value for the rest of BAE Systems
- Influence relationships across the business and supply chain partnering to deliver the procurement strategy
- Owning the relationship across different Business Units and the supply chain to deliver resource aligned to the strategy
- Promoting the procurement function and the value that the function adds internally and externally
- You will have line manager responsibilities with a team of 10 direct reports
- Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies delivering tangible business value
- Proficient in undertaking supplier management with demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders at all levels of the organisation (both internally and externally)
- Proven ability to coach and lead a high performing team, to deliver a positive working culture and consistent value
