This role will help support the CFO in shaping & directing the Finance team to become best in class, in the process ensuring robust financial management, transaction processing, reporting, fiscal compliance and funding for the business and that the business leaders have high quality management information at their fingertips in order to aid better decision-making. The role is a key stepping stone for development as part of the talent pipeline for the CFO.
The Finance team in this company play an active value added role and are well respected. Finance leaders will experience regular exposure to the most senior members of the company, they are closely involved in key decision making, and benefit from working in a highly commercially focused business, bringing many opportunities and a wide range of experiences.
Pro-active management/responsibility for:
- Financial Controllership and accounting including managing external audit, statutory reporting, and year end close process
- Treasury including robust cash management, weekly, 13 week and long range strategic cash planning, and managing key banking relationships
- Tax, covering all aspects from Corporation tax, indirect taxes, employment taxes, both UK and internationally,
- The AP/AR shared service centre
- Risk management and insurance
- Management of real estate leases
In addition close involvement with the wider Finance and other functional teams:
- Month end close and reporting process and business performance management
- Negotiations with major customers
- Negotiations with key suppliers
- IT and Financial systems, automation of key processes
- HR and payroll
This person will have line management for 13 finance individuals, with team members both in the UK and overseas. And will be a full time member of the CFO’s leadership team which also include the Group General Counsel, IT Director and Strategy and Business Development Director as well as the other key Finance leaders within the Leadership team, will drive the team development and performance management agenda for all functions managed by the CFO, which is a key area of focus for the Group CFO
- ACA/CIMA Qualified with 5-10+years PQE
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience of managing a team/multiple teams
- Ability to display previous experience of excellent cash management practices
- Experience of managing year end processes and external audit
- Experience of managing banking relationships, experience on a refinancing of a business
- Experience in managing and negotiating insurance cover for a diverse and multi-location business
