Reporting to the VP, Accounting Strategy and Operations, the Director of Financial Shared Services will lead operational priorities across the financial shared services team. This position directly impacts the Company’s growth and success by driving excellence in processes and will identify, design, and drive execution across priorities and projects within Accounting Operations. The incumbent will be an important business partner, ensuring effective collaboration with other departments within Southwire including Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commercial, Legal and People and Culture (P&C).

  • Build and lead the development of team members; establish clear team and individual objectives, provide coaching to employees through their personal growth in functional expertise, communication skills, and ability to interact with clients and peers.
  • Lead and manage operations within the shared services function of payments to Southwire stakeholders, employees, and vendors, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services. Lead team to effectively drive and manage change in the organization. Develop and deliver projects and business cases to facilitate transformation or improvement in systems and processes.
  • Oversee the closing, reporting, planning, analysis, and day to day support of the financial shared services organization. Ensure data used in reporting, analysis and planning is accurate and complete for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous process improvement within the shared services organization, ensure all policies and processes are efficient and aligned with business objectives. Develop, monitor, and improve key performance metrics to measure the quality and efficiency of the shared services organization.
  • Develop and support strategic collaboration across business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities by establishing credibility immediately with staff and executive team peers. Be viewed as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges. Together with leadership, define the areas that need to be adjusted to reach objectives and goals. Develop a plan to drive change and serve as a role model leader to implement change. Provide technical financial expertise, advice, and knowledge to others.
  • Build understanding and expertise in Southwire financial systems, date sources, uses and reports to continually improve and enhance business insight as well as ensure a strong controls framework.
  • Facilitate an efficient budget / forecast process that is effective in achieving financial goals / targets.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting, Finance or related business degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in corporate accounting, corporate finance or financial shared services; 5+ years of leadership experience
  • CMA, CPA, AP and/or Payroll specific certifications, preferred
  • Solid understanding and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including internal controls and reporting
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven business acumen, and exceptional interpersonal capabilities
  • Expert knowledge of the Procure to Pay and Hire to Retire Processes
  • Experience in leading M&A process for shared services organizations
  • Knowledge of lean principles, demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead multiple, large-scale projects and dynamically shift focus and reprioritize when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management skills
  • SAP Experience
