This outstanding position is for a UK Financial Controller, located within the Sheffield area, to join the business working in a full-time hybrid basis. - Overseeing the delivery of the UK component of the Group financial statements, which will include disclosures and commentary for the Annual Report and Accounts
- Managing the teams have handle External Reporting, Treasury back office teams and Shared Service Centre
- Taking ownership of processes including external audit and sign offs for UK statutory accounts
- Coordinating and executing the UK audit process via liaising with external auditors and ensure the process is as smooth as it can be
- Providing technical accounting advice and insight for complex transactions, supporting the Group Financial Control team when needed
- Revolutionizing and developing the internal control environment within the business alongside the Group Head of Compliance and Controls
- Supporting the preparation of balance sheets, to highlight risks and opportunities and supporting the FDs with a strong review process
- Proactively identifying areas for improvement that are targeted in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness
- Assessing the impact of regulatory changes and make recommendations for solutions as needed
- Developing strong professional relationships with stakeholders, auditors and regulatory bodies
- Supporting the board with information for decision making, accounting judgements and key reporting
- Applicants must be fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountants with significant post-qualified experience, specifically managing financial functions, handling external reporting and financial accounting for several years.
- Candidates must have strong knowledge of IFRS, technical accounting matters and a good understanding of internal controls.
- The business is keen to hear from practice trained, professionals with experience from within a Top 4 accountancy practice environment or a FTSE 250 business.
- Previous experience deputizing for Financial Directors or Head of Finances would be valuable.
