Act as a trusted advisor. Build long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders as a single point of contact and facilitate access to colleagues and subject experts. Maintain a strong understanding of industry and business needs, respond with agility to changing business priorities, assist clients in the formation of IT strategies and service level agreements.

  • Establish the organization’s vision and roadmap for Service Delivery Applications and Shared Services technology, leading strategic and operational planning to achieve organizational goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing projects, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT initiatives.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and operation of the applications portfolio for customer facing systems and corporate systems.
  • Drive the continuous and secure operation, administration and maintenance of the corporate computing and network infrastructure.
  • Provide Engineering and Systems Operational support including Application Support, Cloud Enablement, Platform Operations, Network and Server administration, Platform Engineering and DevOps, and Pipeline Automation (CI/CD).
  • Set and drive the execution of the strategy for optimizing the API-enabled integrations of the applications and infrastructure (IAC).
  • Drive the development of high functioning support services that meet the IT support needs of all internal stakeholders, including network, user devices, internal development of applications and external applications and end user support.
  • Ensure written documentation is created and maintained, including user and system manuals, asset management, services level agreements, and all records relating to modifications and upgrades.
  • Set the cloud vision; provide thought leadership in cloud infrastructure and services architecture to meet operational objectives for cloud solutions. Drive the execution ensuring appropriate architecture performance, cost, regulation, and security.
  • Ensure data is consistent, accurate, and accessible for regulatory and business purposes.
  • Manage third-party partners and find opportunities to leverage partnerships with vendors. Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of projects. Ensure vendors are aware of project expectations, holding them accountable to work standards, timelines, and budgets. Maintain awareness of contractual obligations and expectations of vendors and the organization.
  • Establish departmental performance goals, objectives, and operating procedures with KPIs that produce measurable results for the IT functions and services.
  • Communicate delivery expectations to internal and external team members. Assess individual contributions and provide consistent and clear feedback on performance to the teams against goals and objectives.
  • Assume responsibility for people management, including employee productivity, morale, individual development plans, coaching, feedback, resource allocation/utilization, team motivation, training, hiring, retaining, and leading a great team to deliver on objectives.
  • Report regularly to the CIO and leadership team on the status and performance of technology strategies and initiatives, new innovations, and progress against goals relative to the strategic plan.
  • Ten years of combined experience in infrastructure management, customer facing application development and production support, project management, 3rd party software implementations and upgrades, SaaS cloud platforms, networking, voice and data communications, systems administration, technical control methodologies, portfolio management, security, disaster recovery, resource planning and allocation, and performance measurement for technologies for a moderate/large IT department (50+ FTE).
  • Experience implementing Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and API solutions.
  • Site Reliability Engineering principles a plus – resiliency, observability and governance.
  • Experience with Digital Workplace initiatives as well as successful migrations to Microsoft 365 is highly desired.
  • Experience in insurance or related financial services is preferred.
  • Exceptional business analysis skills, with the ability to translate high level business objectives into detailed functional requirements and delivery plans.
  • Current knowledge in technology infrastructure and delivery methods, system development and documentation standards, service delivery models, and project management techniques.
  • Proven ability to analyze, design, and optimize business processes via technology and integration.
  • Well versed in the implementation of security controls. Understands key business and technological processes, experienced in implementing effective risk mitigation strategies to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
  • Capability to carry and execute vision and strategy across the organization to influence key stakeholders (including senior leaders) on the design and implementation of products and services.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to be pragmatic, assertive, and influential; leads by example; skilled at balancing vision and execution.
  • Results-oriented with excellent planning, prioritization, decision making, organizational and time management skills; works well under pressure and delivers on commitments.
  • A relationship builder who is creative, collaborative, persuasive, dependable, and possesses high ethical standards.
  • Excellent people skills, with a history of presenting to numerous constituencies and executive level audiences utilizing interpersonal, written, and presentation mediums.
  • Highly empathetic and able to adjust interactions to match the needs of a variety of business and technical audiences as well as temperaments and personalities.
