Provides direction and leadership to the Global Business Services (GBS) General Ledger group for various countries. Ensures establishment and effectiveness of internal controls, oversight of U.S. and local GAAP accounting treatment and timely support to internal customers (i.e. Regional Controllers).
- Provides leadership and support to GBS General Ledger supervisors and staff including proactive GAAP accounting guidance, troubleshooting support, and issue escalation
- Ensures establishment and effectiveness of internal controls
- Performs financial analysis; validates explanations provided by Supervisors
- Performs appropriate Financial Certifications
- Provides tactical direction to GBS General Ledger supervisors and teams in performance of General Ledger and related processes
- Coordinates and integrates across process areas
- Ensures timeliness and accuracy of general ledger accounting activities including journal entries, recurring entries and accruals, allocations, and related transactions and reporting
- Authorizes period close and open of new period
- Troubleshoots escalated issues, makes decisions, communicates and escalates as appropriate
- Manages performance cycle for GBS General Ledger supervisors, staff, and teams
- Supports recruiting, staffing, training and onboarding processes as appropriate
- Oversees performance management processes (e.g., goal setting, performance evaluation, etc.); completes performance evaluations for direct reports
- Oversees time management processes (e.g., time approval, scheduling, etc.)
- Performs other management responsibilities as appropriate
- Coordinates and liaises closely with Regional and Corporate Finance as well as operations management as appropriate
- Leads and supports continuous improvement processes/projects
- Completes General Ledger supervisor responsibilities (as necessary and appropriate)

- Ability to prepare reports and present ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization both orally and written
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationship with both internal and external clients.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Master’s in accounting or CPA/Equivalent
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
At least 7 years progressive experience in an accounting function with 3 years directly related managerial experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a finance shared services organization.
- Experience developing and implementing processes, procedures, systems and or standards.
- Previous experience manufacturing company is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Expert proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- Proficiency with ERP, Finance and general ledger software preferred
- Ability to manage periodic General Ledger closing
