This Advisory/Principal Advisory Director role is responsible for delivering Info-Tech’s research projects and advisory services to clients, primarily in the domains of Cloud Strategy, design, and adoption/implementation.
The successful candidate will provide research and experience-based insight and guidance, helping IT leaders drive measurable results in their organizations. The incumbent will maintain an active pulse on the needs of clients, who we refer to as Members, located in the Asia-Pacific region. They will also need to stay current on industry developments to enable the delivery of exceptional service via calls and workshops in collaboration with others across our Research Division and organization.

Advisory Calls with Clients
- Leading calls with Members to provide an overview of Info-Tech’s published research.
- Listening to the information provided by Members and recommending ways they can use the research to work through a challenge or project, while ensuring their key initiative plans fulfill their strategic mandates.
- Assist to scope member concerns and direct them to relevant research as well as identify gaps in research products.
Facilitate Workshops
- Properly scope out the workshop effort with clients over the phone a few weeks ahead of online or on-site workshop delivery.
- Assist in developing of Statements of Work (SOW) to formalize the objective, agenda, and deliverables of workshops.
- Using Info-Tech’s published research to facilitate a series of activities with Members and their teams.
- Throughout the workshop, collecting activity outputs from participants and compiling them into a polished final deliverable for the Member at the end of the engagement.
- Identify further areas of advisory assistance required by clients after the workshop.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Support
- Contributing to research producing teams by identifying technology trends and proposing research topics.
- Provide subject matter expertise to Global Services (formerly Executive Services), Sales, Workshop Delivery, Consulting, Public Relations & Marketing teams as needed.
- Design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed.
To be successful, you will need:
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree required (business or technology preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial.
- Certifications in Cloud or other related disciplines considered valuable.
- Practical experience (10+ years) designing and supporting Cloud-based solutions.
- Demonstrated practical experience with Cloud strategy, design, and adoption/implementation, acquired through some combination of, but not limited to:
- Designing and implementing cloud platform, including core and shared services
- Building patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security
- Managing enterprise-scale cloud environments including application dependencies, data storage and flow, network connectivity and overall cloud hosting
- Designing and implementing secure cloud IaaS and PaaS
- Developing architectural templates, build operational documentation for cloud environments.
- Enhancing the capability, security, and experience of cloud platforms
- Understanding and planning for implications of cloud cost management
- Implementation of multi-cloud services
- Application deployment orchestration through containerization
- Cloud governance management, monitoring, and implication management
- Leadership experience in some combination of operational IT domains preferential.
- Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements important.
- History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite considered beneficial.
- Travel Requirement: Must be flexible and have ability to travel (25-50%) to deliver workshops onsite at client locations both within and outside of the Asia Pacific region, when it is safe to do so.
- Visa Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain appropriate visa for work with global clients.
- Work Hours Requirements: Must be available for after-hours work periodically to collaborate with Global colleagues.
