The role holder leads by example in championing the performance and improvement of the Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. They will use their experience and knowledge to assist the team in achieving and exceeding all objectives of the AR function to a consistent high standard.

As a key member of the team this role contributes to the execution of the Business strategy and is responsible for ensuring AR are fully aligned and deliver business value.

  • To provide accurate data regarding Customer Accounts & debt status.
  • To process invoices & disputes to accurately and in a time specific collection of cash.
  • To manage statement reconciliation.
  • To follow & achieve agreed performance targets.
  • Effectively work with other parties to overcome any Customer queries by identifying and overcoming obstacles to payment
  • Assist the leadership team to prioritise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the AR function.
  • Communication with customers relating to their account status and maintain a full understanding of changes to the accounts to ensure continuation of payment from the customer.
  • Complete all AR functions to ensure accounts are processed and paid to terms.
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with all Company Policies, Procedures and Rules.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislation and regulatory requirements relating to business activities in every country where we are active.
  • Respond to escalated incidents.
  • Competence in all aspects of the AR function.
  • A key attendee to the SSC daily check point.
  • Assist in audit reviews (external and internal) as needed.
  • Ensure a clean hand off from the AR process into the supporting departments.
  • Assist the AR & Master Data Manager to create and maintain training documents & training to the team on system and process.
  • Help to drive development for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff, to help the team to achieve goals set by the AR manager.
  • Strong sense of self ethics and effort as well as wiliness to go the extra mile.
  • Work in an open and honest manner, with a focus on strong communication to create relationships based on a culture of sharing information.
  • Proactive phone calls to customers and other Sofina employees, upholding a polite and courteous manner to ensure cash is collected.
  • Focus and ambition to work towards our goals.
  • Act decisively under challenging conditions and take full responsibility and accountability for actions to ensure standards of excellence are achieved across the Customer accounts and department.
  • Equivalent work experience and/or role.
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering services across a business within complex context.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the AR & Master Data Manager
  • Build strong working relationships with the AR team.
  • Work closely with all functions throughout the Shared Service department, supporting collaboration and understanding of customer, supplier, and company requirements.
  • Present a professional image, upholding the positive image of the Shared Service Centre and supporting a strong positive relationship with employees, customer, and suppliers.
  • To assist with training and direction to support the AR manager.
  • Work as part of a unified team, driving increased business knowledge throughout and supporting an environment for the whole team to contribute to success, with ownership by all.
  • Inspire co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change directly to the Manager
  • Assist the Manger to mitigate team conflict and communication issues.
  • Good communication skills with the capability to communicate confidently internally & externally
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work within an agreed established framework and cope with pressure, working to deadlines and targets demonstrating a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to report accurately.
  • IT Literate with experience of processing computer-based data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
