The Assistant Corporate Controller is a highly visible leadership position responsible for overseeing external reporting, technical accounting, SOX compliance, and US Shared Services. This role ensures accurate and timely financial information while adhering to company policies, SOX, and SEC guidelines.

This position will manage a group of 25+ employees, with 4 direct reports.

SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting

  • Own the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports (Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, and proxy statements).
  • Coordinate efforts with internal groups and external stakeholders for SEC filings.
  • Review consolidated financial statements and other data for press releases.
  • Lead purchase price allocation and technical accounting integration for all acquisitions.
  • Evaluate impact of new accounting standards and lead their implementation.
  • Advise on technical accounting matters and complex business transactions.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure ongoing SOX compliance, including budget monitoring.
  • Develop, implement and maintain global accounting policies.
  • Provide recommendations and remediation plans for control deficiencies.
  • Present materials to the Audit Committee.

Accounting Operations

  • Manage global accounting consolidation process and system
  • Lead the US Shared Services accounting function which includes Revenue/Receivables, COGS/Inventory, and Accounts Payable.
  • Lead accounting processes accounting and general ledger activities within the shared services center.

Daily Management & Team Development

  • Oversee the worldwide monthly/quarterly accounting closes.
  • Develop and train accounting staff on policies and procedures.
  • Recognize skill gaps of team and offer training opportunities to enhance competencies.
  • Identify potential successors for key roles and develop their capabilities.
  • Active CPA certification required.
  • 10+ years of management experience.
  • Big 4 or comparable Public Accounting experience
  • Strong manufacturing accounting background is necessary.
  • Experience in a multi-national publicly traded company.
  • Proficiency in Excel, consolidation, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional leadership.
