Allied Universal® is hiring a Shared Services Director. The Shared Services Director oversees the centralized Accounts Payable (A/P), Billing, Collections, Cash Applications, Booking streams. The position will supervise, provide guidance, and be the escalation path for all things related to the teams that report to them. They will establish and maintain common procedures and seek process efficiencies for their departments including payment processing, vendor tracking, booking new projects, accounts payable closeout, DSO and DPO improvements, collection efforts, and accounting system automation, among other department tasks.
- Responsible for company-wide accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookings operations and teams
- Support and challenge accounting teams to work efficiently with accounting systems and processes; provide guidance and support on technology and process improvements
- Hire, train, supervise, coach, and retain Accounting and Finance professionals
- Ensure completion and turnaround times are within Service Level Agreements; emphasize efficiency, accuracy, and responsive customer service (internal and external)
- Work closely with other managers and teams to ensure internal business operations software is properly used for accounting processes and management of projects
- Review, amend, and draft policy and procedure documents to ensure best practices are documented and adhered to
- Enforce and assist with reconciliation of variances on a timely basis
- Assist with accurate financial reporting, updates, and status reports; participate in departmental accounting processes
- Provide data for miscellaneous corporate initiatives and ad hoc analyses
Qualifications (must Have)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field of study
- Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Staff Accountant
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an Accounts Receivable or Payable environment
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience
- Expertise in spreadsheets and using formulas
- Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
- Proficient user of finance software
- Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
- Ability to maintain discretion in handling sensitive financial information
Preferred Qualifications (nice To Have)
- Experience in the construction industry (invoicing and related documents)
- Shared Services management experience
- SAP experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
