This IT Leadership role within the Group Benefits Transformation program will be accountable for organizing and delivering a critical core modernization and transformation initiative for the Group Benefits organization. The leader must have experience leading and delivering a significant transformational initiative, preferably related to core systems, and a strong aptitude for relentless execution within an Agile delivery model. This role will lead scaled Agile teams to deliver capabilities that drive business value, in collaboration with architecture and other shared technology services.
- Execution of the transformation roadmap across policy and billing domains within the Group Benefits portfolio (~25M annual budget)
- Partner with the business/ Agile product management team to drive the right business value and sequencing of capabilities
- Develop and lead a large organization through strong workforce strategies. HR accountability for a large team, including coaching/mentoring and building the next generation and level of execution and application development leaders
- Effectively manage execution across multiple vendor partners in an onshore/offshore environment
- Proactively identify and manage risks and issues to ensure successful delivery
- Ensure solid governance practices to execute successfully in a scaled agile environment
- Leadership of delivery teams,
- Clear communication of status and risks to executives across business, technology, and partner organizations
- Accountability for financial management of transformation initiative, including cost and time estimation to deliver business value
- Accountability to mature DevOps, improving automation to enable continuous delivery, and building high performing software engineering teams with a focus on continuous improvement
- 10+ years of IT leadership experience executing large scale programs and change management, preferably in core applications.
- Strong foundation in technology, including significant experience in delivering large transformational programs, partnering with business as well as global vendor teams.
- Proven track record as a results-oriented IT leader that collaborates well with business leaders and manages business outcomes.
- Solid background in technology and familiarity with all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Strong understanding of business strategy and aligning technology roadmaps to business
- Strong people leadership abilities with skills in cultivating tech talent for the future through coaching, developing, and mentoring
- Ability to successfully work across all levels of the organization, including interacting with senior management
- Proven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and experience working with an offshore delivery model
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with thorough attention to detail
- Proven leadership through IT transformations in building, managing, and scaling teams to deliver outcomes
- Group Benefits or Property & Casualty insurance experience is preferred
