The Remote Associate Vice President (AVP) for the Pacific Northwest region will lead a profitable and comprehensive business and growth strategy in the assigned submarket, executing the vision, goals, and direction to achieve objectives. The AVP works closely with national, regional, and practice leadership to drive optimal organization dynamics, financial performance, operational efficiency, physician and hospital contracting, and safety advocacy and oversight.

  • Must reside in Washington State.
  • This is a remote role supporting the Pacific Northwest region.
  • Develops strategy and plans for profitable business in the region in alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Effectively assesses assigned regions and develops plans for growth as well as drives strategic initiatives for all practices including diversification, expansion, or creation and approves candidates for acquisition.
  • Assesses, scopes, and mitigates risks to the business.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe daily operations and contract adherence.
  • Responsible for top and bottom-line performance of assigned regions, through budget development, monitoring practice performance and efficiency, review of monthly financials and monitoring practice productivity and cost containment strategies.
  • Develops and approves business development models.
  • Works with Clinical services and Specialty Medical Officers “SMOs” to drive safety and quality initiatives.
  • Monitors practice performance and efficiency through operations team and review of monthly financials and monitors practice productivity and cost containment strategies.
  • Responsible for managed care and revenue cycle oversight as well as negotiating agreements (Directly or through direct reports) with physicians, payers, hospitals, and vendors related to new as well as ongoing business operations.
  • Assures optimal delivery of Pediatrix Shared Services support, fosters one Pediatrix culture and oversees and advocates for safety and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Masters Degree Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial management and analysis including development of pro forma, contracting, business development, business development and physician relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to negotiate and build relationships with physicians, physician groups, other healthcare professionals and hospital partners; Experience in successfully leading and motivating a team
  • Critical thinker with the ability to logically evaluate all aspects of situations and problems to arrive at optimal solutions
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to find collaborative and positive outcome
  • High degree of personal accountability, emotional intelligence, energy and entrepreneurial mindset; experience leading operations in a multi-state healthcare organization.
  • Up to 50% travel required, typically within assigned region.
