St. Mary Catholic Central High School seeks an analytical, organized, and detail-oriented person to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer.
The CFO is a full-time position in the Shared Services model between St. Mary Catholic Central and Monroe Catholic Elementary School. The CFO is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of SMCC and MCES. S/he ensures fiscal soundness through proper accounting, reporting, compliance, and record keeping, using policies and procedures with strong internal controls and best practices.
Major areas of responsibility and oversight include: Business Office operations, directing the work of Business Office support staff or contracted bookkeeping/accounting vendors, budgeting, financial reporting, human resource record keeping and document processing, tuition billing and collection, financial aid allocation, payroll processing, accounts receivable/payable processes, banking, and duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional writing, grammatical, and verbal communication skills. S/he must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. S/he must be professional, collaborative, courteous, and strongly inclined toward customer service and mission-driven outcomes. S/he will be required to work with all levels of staff, faculty, and parents, handling confidential and time-sensitive information. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work in a small team environment and build and maintain positive and productive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients. Being bilingual and fluent in Spanish is helpful but not required.
A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent is required. A Master’s degree in one of those or a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience in accounting, fiscal management, or business operations and functional knowledge of general business practices, budget development, financial reporting, accounting software management, cash management, banking, credit card, and ACH processing. Experience and knowledge of non-profit organizations are beneficial.
