This is a Nationally based role.
The successful candidate will:
- Make sure services designed to meet user needs and be iteratively improved over time are at the heart of the MoJ’s interaction with both citizens and businesses.
- Support the flexible, cost-effective transformation of the department’s technology estate to leverage agile development techniques, open-source solutions and open standards to deliver solutions that support digital services.
- Build, lead and inspire a community of technical specialists and will make sure our services come together as a coherent whole.
- Work with the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and other government departments to exchange best practice, develop cross-government strategic direction and deploy shared services.
- Be flexible and responsive by reducing our reliance on legacy technology and automating where it is right to do so.
- Identify, experiment with, and create demand for emerging technologies and innovation that help the organisation to deliver policy and outcomes.
- Build strategic, collaborative and constructive relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and justice partners to drive maximum success.
- Improve core technical competencies such as enterprise, solution, data, cyber security and business architecture.
- Be a visible leader across MoJ and government, promoting agile and user-centric product development best practice.
- Oversee a complex budget, ensuring value for money for the taxpayer.

- individuals with limited leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS on or before 31 December 2020
- Turkish nationals, and certain family members of Turkish nationals, who have accrued the right to work in the Civil Service
