You will function as a subject matter expert on compensation programs and serve as a strategic partner to one or more divisions of Wolters Kluwer. You will participate in the design, development, and implementation of global compensation programs and processes through close collaboration with important partners, including the Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT) and HR business leaders associated with the supported division(s).
- Manage divisional compensation programs and provide recommendations on the administration of reward programs following global policies and practices.
- Develop base pay programs and incentive harmonization in a global environment.
- Serve as a strategic partner to HR and Divisional leaders within assigned division(s) and specialty areas and advises on compensation policy and strategy.
- Identify compensation challenges or opportunities and independently recommend creative solutions to complex problems using analytics and judgment.
- Apply technical compensation expertise to develop models, evaluate processes, and monitor trends.
- Assess and ensure the use of compensation programs and tools by client groups.
- Communicate the compensation philosophy, plans, and incentive programs within assigned division(s).
- Help design variable pay plans, including short-term and long-term incentive plans, retention plans, and executive offers.
- Assist with implementation and communication of new compensation programs and changes to existing programs.
- Maintain the global career framework, evaluating and determining salary grades or market rates for all jobs within their assigned division(s) at both executive and non-executive levels.
- Review market data to provide recommendations on compensation packages, policies, and programs.
- Collaborate with divisional partners, HR partners, and the broader compensation COE globally to achieve compensation outcomes that attract and retain critical talent.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience: 10+ years of compensation related experience including:
- Base pay and incentive compensation design & program management
- Conduct market analysis & benchmarking.
- Communicate and implement compensation programs.
- Administer and provide guidance for executive and non-executive compensation programs.
- Technical and data analytics capability.
- Change management and policy implementation.
- Aid in development and deliver training sessions for HR teams and managers on compensation practices, ensuring a clear understanding of program features and policies.
- Advanced compensation program comprehension, including technical knowledge of long-term incentive plans.
- Be a trusted advisor to business leaders on compensation-related matters, providing guidance and insights to facilitate informed decision making.
- Display adaptivity in negotiation, presentation, and education with senior leaders; ability to explain complex or sensitive topics; work to build consensus and influence outcomes.
- Promote compensation process improvement.
- Experience working in shared services organization.
- Turn data and analytics into plans.
- Solve complex problems using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify solutions.
- Experience working with acquisitions due diligence.
Tools:
- MS office software to include advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and data visualization.
- Human Resource Management Systems (Workday experience preferred).
Preferred Experience:
- Global compensation design of policies and programs with an understanding of all regions in which Wolters Kluwer operates (Americas, APAC, EMEA).
- Develop and administer compensation plans for technology organizations, with knowledge of Technology job family groups.
- Demonstrate compensation consultative approach with a focus on analytics, creative thinking and interpretation skills.
- Develop complex analytics needed to best ensure compensation programs are supporting overall goals and programs.
- Lead compensation teams and projects.
- Stay informed about best practices, competition, and market differentiators.
- Compensation professional certification desirable.
- Knowledge of human resources regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.TRAVEL: 5-10%
