Directs the Kodak Global Business Services (GBS) General Ledger (GL) team and has overall responsibility for the delivery of GBS Controllership GL accounting services.

  • Planning & Organizing
  • Sets direction and ensures mission and purpose of the team are clear
  • Develops approaches to achieve organizational goals
  • Improves current services
  • Identifies new service opportunities and threats
  • Adapts strategies to changing directions
  • Leads service area planning, goal setting and budgeting processes
  • Directs and supports development of metrics to assesses performance of GL Team relative to service agreements and internal customer satisfaction
  • Provide expertise and insight on how to apply US GAAP, Local GAAP, Company policy and problem solving capabilities

Managing

  • Directs the GBS GL team and has overall responsibility for the effective performance of all processes, tasks, objectives associate with GBS GL service delivery
  • Manages escalated issues and provides final decisions and/or approval where appropriate
  • Ensures integration with other service groups and works collaboratively to gain trust and build credibility by following through on commitments and taking responsibility for outcomes and customer satisfaction
  • Participates in Service Councils and partners with GBS Performance Improvement team to identify service improvement opportunities
  • Provides regular status updates to GBS leadership (e.g., GBS Leader, councils, etc.)
  • Performs people management responsibilities, including:
  • Manages and coaches direct reports; leads and participates in performance management processes; provides feedback and counseling as needed
  • Removes obstacles and provide resources for team accomplishments. Recognizes and rewards people whose actions support GBS mission and Kodak’s values
  • Participates in recruiting, staffing, selection, & on-boarding processes
  • Manages individual, team, and process group performance
  • Creates an environment that supports and enables associate engagement, retention and development
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for establishing GBS as an employer of choice in the community
  • Confronts employee issues, manages corrective action process with support from GBS HR
  • Champions and models Kodak’s values and core competencies

Continuous Improvement

  • Directs activities to stabilize services during GBS ramp-up (i.e. operating company deployment)
  • Champions and is accountable for service improvement initiatives
  • Identify and provide resources for service improvement initiatives
  • Communicate impact of improvement initiatives on stakeholders to ensure success
  • Leads and supports continuous improvement processes
  • Review key processes, identify gaps between customer/service agreement requirements and current outputs, solicit input from team members and stakeholders, implement solutions and evaluate impact
  • Consider impact of changes and improvement efforts on team members and stakeholders, communicate and adjust approach accordingly to ensure success of change efforts
  • Implements new GL processes/services as necessary

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in finance or accounting.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

10+ years progressive experience in multiple financial/ accounting functions.

At least 3-5 years of senior leadership experience with multiple direct reports and responsibility for monthly closing for a large finance and accounting organization.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Previous leadership experience in a shared services environment.

Previous experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Process oriented with an understanding of business process improvement methods, change management and project management.
  • Proficiency with ERP, Finance and general ledger software preferred
  • Understanding of ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and technology enable business processes
  • Ability to manage periodic General Ledger closing
