Reporting to the Head of Sales Effectiveness, will supervise the day-to-day operations of the Sonesta Group Center running a strong and effective team that can meet the needs of our customers and liaising with above and on property sales teams to drive topline success.

Responsible for developing critical sales process flow to sustain Sonesta’s strong growth. This role will lead the process of group bookings and driving market share for Sonesta, including New Business Development. This role will support efforts of design and development of sales programs with senior stakeholders and the Sonesta brands. Equally aid lead these initiatives through completion for successful implementation.

  • A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support their competencies therein.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 8-10 years of sales experience in the capacity of hotel group and meeting sales.
  • Contact Center experience would be an asset
  • Manages Group Center Agents in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
  • Has excellent team building skills.
  • Facilitates refresher or coaching to Group Center Agents to carry out new process or new guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of data management, analytics and reporting.
  • Prior sales experience with hotel properties including both full and select/limited-service brands would be an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exemplary organizational skills, Project Management experience would be considered a plus
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to socialize concepts, ideas, programs to senior level stakeholders
  • Possesses previous experience with Delphi FDC and/or Salesforce is a plus.
  • Mastery in Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Experience with sales distribution channels (Lanyon, Cvent) is a plus
  • Works closely with Revenue Management, Hotel Operations and Marketing teams to demonstrate needs
  • of Group Center conversions
  • Has experience with Group Pricing modules and tools.
  • Supports team efforts by participating in cross-functional projects as needed in a SME (subject matter expert role)
  • Develops process improvements and initiatives based on emerging trends to enhance groups and meetings segment handling/management.
  • Determines overall goal of the team i.e., revenue targets, leads processing etc. as consulted with the senior leadership team.
  • Develops stakeholders’ network and negotiate contracts for catering and other event support services.
