Establish and communicate strategic and operational direction for Workplace Digital Products and Services in alignment with Transamerica and divisional goals. Direct the use of agile methodologies to help teams self-organize, self-manage, and deliver via effective and agreed upon delivery practices.
- Strategy Development: Developing and defining the overall strategy for digital portfolio management & agile transformation within the organization, aligning it with business objectives and goals.
- Portfolio Governance: Establishing governance frameworks and processes to effectively prioritize, evaluate, and select digital initiatives for inclusion in the portfolio. This includes defining criteria for project selection, assessing project viability, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Leadership and Advocacy: Serving as a champion and advocate for agile principles and practices, promoting the benefits of agile methodologies to senior leadership, and building consensus among stakeholders.
- Change Management: Creating and implementing a comprehensive change management plan to facilitate the transition to agile practices, ensuring that the organization embraces and adopts agile values, mindset, and methodologies.
- Portfolio Planning: Collaborating with key stakeholders to create and maintain a comprehensive digital portfolio plan that outlines the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for each initiative. This involves balancing resource allocation, budget constraints, and project dependencies.
- Agile Framework and Process Design: Designing and customizing agile frameworks, methodologies, and processes that best suit the organization’s needs, considering factors such as team structure, size, and industry.
- Resource Management: Optimizing the allocation of resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, across the digital portfolio. This includes evaluating resource capacity, identifying gaps, and making informed decisions to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of resource utilization.
- Training and Education: Developing and delivering agile training programs to various levels of the organization, including executives, managers, and team members, to build agile knowledge and skills.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to agile teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders, helping them understand and apply agile principles, practices, and tools effectively.
- Agile Transformation Roadmap: Creating a roadmap that outlines the steps and milestones for the agile transformation journey, including key initiatives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Performance Measurement and Metrics: Establishing and tracking performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of portfolio and agile transformation efforts and provide visibility into the progress and impact of the initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in agile practices and processes, implementing feedback mechanisms, and fostering a culture of learning, experimentation, and adaptation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, business leaders, project sponsors, and external partners, ensuring their buy-in and support for the agile transformation initiatives.
- Risk Management: Identifying and addressing potential risks and challenges associated with portfolio and agile transformation, implementing mitigation strategies, and ensuring the smooth and successful adoption of agile practices.
- Collaboration with Agile Teams: Collaborating closely with agile teams to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities, providing support, guidance, and removing any impediments that may hinder their progress.
- Industry Research and Best Practices: Staying up to date with the latest trends, industry practices, and advancements in agile methodologies, attending conferences, participating in communities of practice, and continuously learning to enhance your own expertise and knowledge.
- Financial Management: Overseeing the financial aspects of the digital portfolio, including budget planning, cost estimation, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting. This involves working closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure financial discipline and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Alignment with Business Objectives: Ensuring that the digital portfolio is closely aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives and strategies. This involves working closely with business units and senior leadership to understand their needs, provide guidance on digital initiatives, and foster collaboration.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and governance frameworks, including data privacy, security, and industry-specific regulations. This involves staying up to date with legal requirements, implementing necessary controls, and maintaining a robust governance structure.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
- Ten years of experience in the financial services industry, including management roles
- Management experience leading continuous improvement and/or agile teams
- Thorough knowledge of agile tools and techniques including user stories, continuous integration, continuous testing, automated testing, paring, agile games, etc.
- Understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels within the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
