This position is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company’s Accounting Operations and procurement teams, ensuring shared services goals and internal controls adequately safeguard company assets.

  • Directs Procurement/Distribution, Mail Center, and Accounting Operations (Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Cash Office/Payroll), determines priorities and objectives and ensures budget achievement.
  • Direct all communications with external stakeholders in areas of oversight.
  • Directs and conducts procurement processes, including formal RFPs, bids, purchase orders, and contracts, while ensuring compliance with operating instructions.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Designs and implements internal controls around key accounting processes.
  • Develop and implement internal and external workflow strategies that establish and maintain adequate control.
  • Provides support and guidance in the coordination and remediation of control issues.
  • Works with management to create and adhere to internal controls that promote better company management.
  • Creates documentation and practices that assure appropriate processes, controls, and a statement of financial position.
  • Reviews and approves operational workflow documentation for adequacy and accuracy.
  • Works closely with external stakeholders to resolve issues or address questions arising from payable or receivable operations.
  • Works closely with internal management to establish and enforce policies related to accounting operations and procurement policies.
  • Directs and provides oversight of payroll operations.
  • Works in conjunction with the manager to perform critical reviews and analyses of current payroll and tax procedures, recommending and implementing changes that lead to best-practice operations.
  • Performs other related duties, tasks, requests, and directives issued from management as required.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think conceptually and effectively communicate direction to internal stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; able to present to senior management and stakeholders.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, and;
  • Ten (10) to 15 years of related experience in accounting, finance, and/or procurement and;
  • Five (5) to 10 years of supervisory experience.
  • A Graduate-level degree in a related field is preferred.
  • CPA is highly preferred.
