We are seeking a seasoned professional to serve as the Director, Accounting Operations Shared Services. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our accounting operations shared services function. This is a new senior leadership role in the organization responsible for leading the customer billing and global payment operations areas.
- Provide superior leadership to the enterprise-wide customer billing and vendor payment processes, including customer billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and expense reimbursement teams.
- Provide visionary leadership to the accounting shared services team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, objectives, and initiatives for the accounting shared services function aligned with the company’s overall financial and operating objectives.
- Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting operations shared services operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with vendor contracts, purchase orders, and payment terms, and establish and maintain strong internal controls to mitigate risk and prevent fraud.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices related to accounts payable, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance and optimize processes.
- Implement technologies and automation solutions to optimize invoice processing and payment disbursement, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Oversee customer invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contract terms and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, analyze trends, and implement strategies to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and improve cash flow.
- Implement controls and procedures to mitigate billing errors, minimize disputes, and optimize cash flow.
- Enhance the financial performance of the Company by analyzing and interpreting financial data and reporting to senior management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership across finance, sales, operations, and legal.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, vendors, customers, and service providers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting shared services matters, providing guidance and support to stakeholders as needed in order to develop a positive and collaborative relationship.
- Develop future financial and controllership leaders through talent development, training and mentoring of individuals.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years management experience.
- Proven track record of innovation and continuous improvement. Project management and/or experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Demonstrated, strong leadership experience (formal or informal). Ability to develop and motivate teams and provide strategic direction for them.
- Understanding of revenue recognition requirements and ability to apply them effectively in their areas to support a high level of compliance while maximizing contracts.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail

- Experience managing third-party vendors

- Proven competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience using large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other related and necessary systems to support these functions.
