Join Vitalant as our Director of Accounts Payable and play a key role in our mission to save and improve lives! In this role, you’ll lead and transform our Accounts Payable function, driving automation and process efficiency to support Vitalant’s business objectives and compliance requirements. You’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, and Legal, ensuring streamlined, effective, and controlled operations nationwide. As a leader, you’ll also inspire and develop your team to achieve enterprise-wide goals and continuously improve processes.

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of six Accounts Payable staff, fostering growth and high performance.
  • Oversee the Procure-to-Pay process, ensuring alignment across people, processes, and technology.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Monitor performance metrics and hold service providers accountable for meeting targets.
  • Ensure processes are documented with clear procedures, governance, policies, and training materials.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Build process expertise, promote innovation, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
  • Resolve service issues by identifying root causes and developing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, and other leaders to align priorities.
  • Manage strategic projects focused on leveraging new technologies and driving operational efficiency.

Knowledge/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience

  • Eight years of Procure to Pay experience required.
  • Five years of leadership required.
  • Experience managing national processes and teams in a shared service environment preferred.

Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with project management and system redesign preferred.
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
  • Ability to see broadly and understand strategic changes and effectively translate that into necessary process or technology changes needed to support the needs of the business.
  • Highly effective communication, relationship building, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated leader.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Expert computer knowledge including P2P systems as well as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Oracle.
