The Director, Accounts Receivable oversees daily operations of all areas within Accounts Receivable, for the North American Regional Shared Services Center (RSSC), including Masterdata and Credit Management, Customer Collections and Cash Application. This position is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, as well as managing the accounting and reporting functions. As a member of the RSSC, this position will report into the Finance hierarchy and directly to the CFO in the US.

  • Ensure compliance with Global Credit Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for developing clear team goals and objectives and the creation of key metrics and milestones to measure outcomes
  • Develop reporting and benchmarking to provide management with Accounts Receivable oversight and targets
  • Identify and implement improvement projects to increase operational efficiency
  • Rollout new corporate initiatives within area of responsibility, including technology and processes
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership teams when assessing customer contract negotiations related to Accounts Receivable credit risk
  • Act as an escalation point to ensure timely resolution of issues and concerns
  • Participate in customer reviews with Operations and Sales, identifying areas of improvement and resolution to ensure settlement of invoices within terms.
  • Liaison between Finance, Sales, and Operations; to ensure understanding and compliance of company policies
  • Support Month End reporting, including customer factoring and bad debt projection/provision calculations
  • Responsible to support both annual internal and external audit queries
  • Responsible to ensure successful integration of M&A activity for designated areas of responsibility.

Educational Background / Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field or equivalent work experience and training
  • At least 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
  • Extensive experience and qualifications in Accounting/Finance
  • Highly experienced in analysis and requirement gathering, ideally having operated in an organization through business change and transformation.
  • Established new systems and processes with a proven track record of introducing efficiency initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CFA certification is preferred

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and laws
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel and SAP

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English is required

Computer Literacy

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software and tools
