NT Property Management is responsible for procuring leased property and administering leases for all NT Government agencies. The leased property portfolio comprises approximately 220,000 m2 of office space, warehouse and special purpose facilities throughout the Northern Territory.
- Lead the procurement, negotiation and acquisition of commercial property on behalf of the NT Government.
- Prepare and provide expert advice and recommendations on commercial property policy, strategy and leasing matters.
- Develop, implement and review commercial property policy and strategy and represent the NT Government interests at a National and Industry level.
- Develop, maintain, review and articulate a forward outlook for the government’s commercial accommodation needs.
- Create a work environment that fosters effective, high-performance team work, values and delivers customer centric services and optimum portfolio performance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans and reporting to ensure that NT Property Management activities are aligned with the Department’s corporate objectives.
- Excellent leadership and team building skills that focuses on fostering a work environment which is customer centric and adopts a continuous improvement approach to service delivery.
- A comprehensive understanding of the current and emerging commercial property market and the NT Government commercial accommodation needs including in remote localities.
- Working knowledge of commercial property management practices, real estate law, valuation processes and procurement practices.
- High level of knowledge delivering services in a large shared corporate services environment.
- High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, superior negotiation and relationship building skills, high work ethic and a proven history of delivering outcomes.
- Knowledge of business process monitoring, reporting and process improvement.
- An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
- Demonstrated work ethic and attitude, which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful and innovative.
