The role of the Director of European Shared Services is to ensure high-quality, cost-effective accounting and administrative services for Crown Bevcan EMEA, safeguarding the business through robust governance practices while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
The Director will provide strategic direction for the Shared Services organisation, developing and encouraging continuous improvement, innovation, automation, and efficient resource management.
As a subject matter expert, the SSC Director will lead an international team to deliver effective financial services in areas including COTC, P2P, Treasury, General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Forecasting, Master Data, and Payroll. This will be achieved through rigorous processes and strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
- Managing the SSC team and resources effectively to prioritise and deliver services to our customers as defined and agreed in Service Level Agreements
- Overseeing service delivery and daily SSC operations, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures to drive accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables
- Collaborating with stakeholders to establish key performance indicators for measuring performance and customer satisfaction
- Maintaining strong controls to ensure compliance with all group policies and statutory requirements by the SSC team, enhancing the control environment’s relevancy and timeliness
- Building a culture of continuous improvement by keeping process flows and standard operating procedures current, regularly reviewed by all staff and stakeholders, and constantly enhanced and improved
- Overseeing year-end audits with external auditors to ensure accounting sign-off within established deadlines
Required Education and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 10+ years of accounting and finance experience in large, multi-sector organisations in Finance & Accounts
- 5+ years of management experience in a global company, specifically managing a Shared Services Department
- In-depth finance process knowledge with subject matter expertise, particularly in shared service controls and process areas (General Ledger / AP / AR / Treasury / Payroll)
- Proven experience in managing, leading, and developing people

- Ability to work productively and efficiently under pressure, meeting deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail and high-quality performance
- Process-oriented with strong analytical skills, driving improvements, problem-solving, and robust decision-making abilities
- Ability to thrive in a process-driven environment with the courage to challenge the status quo
- Excellent financial modelling skills, advanced Excel skills, and a strong affinity for IT systems tools, and SAP
- Ability to quickly deep-dive into all financial topics, including financing instruments, company law, and international tax regulations
- High integrity combined with sound business judgment, consistently identifying, recommending, and selecting the best overall solutions
- Proficiency in English (both verbal and written), with additional European language skills being a plus
